As an Orioles fan, I'm not opposed to the end of the world occuring on 5/21. It would be a welcome conclusion to this awful week.

You know they are joking right? If these guys really believe it, they wouldn't say "Oh, good thing the world is ending, my team sucks!"
It's all a big joke. Nobody except a few people actually believe it. It's just a small novelty story. The fact that people are throwing their lives away for an event that, even the bible says in a way, won't happen is what makes this interesting. The only reason this is popular is because the guy who started it had access to the media. As I heard, the man who predicted it has scheduled a radio appearance for Monday, so IDK if he even believes it.

You have a way of turning the most mundane things into complex, elongated analyzations.
