I thought this was interesting, and I would share it. I was actually looking to see if Michael Cuddyer played that game so I could have him sign the ticketstub for me as something different.

First off, the tickets that we used cost us $3.50 a piece (we were in a group, but still... they were good seats too)

Game 48 (must be home game 48) of the 2002 season. Texas Rangers at Twins. Sunday July 14th, 2002 (starting time 1:05PM)

Starting Pitchers were:
Twins: Kyle Lohse
Rangers: Dave Burba

Twins Batting Order:
Jacque Jones
Christian Guzman
Doug Mientkiewicz
Corey Koskie
Torii Hunter
David Ortiz
Bobby Kielty
AJ Piersynzki
Denny Hocking

Rangers Batting Order:
Frank Catalanotto
Michael Young
Alex Rodriguez
Juan Gonzalez
Rafael Palmeiro
Herbert Perry
Kevin Mench
Bill Haselman
Ruben Rivera

Alex Rodriguez hit 2 home runs

Hunter and Ortiz went back to back

Bobby Kielty hit 1 home run

Christian Guzman was tossed after his first at bat

Ron Gardenhire was tossed after Christian Guzman.

Michael Cuddyer was recalled from Triple-A Edmonton the Tuesday before the game, and pinch hit for Luis Rivas who took over for Christian Guzman

Twins won 5-4
WP: JC Romero
LP: Colby Lewis
SV: Eddie Guardado :D

Ivan Rodriguez did play that game as well. He came on as a pinch hitter

The only player who played that game and is still on the Major League Roster for the Twins is Michael Cuddyer.

I am going to try and have Cuddy sign this stub for me eventually.

Just thought I would share. Feel free to post stuff on your first MLB game too

Here is where I gathered the info too:

Nice read.

Gosh, I can't even remember the first game I went to. At the old Busch, but who knows when.

Thanks!

I would have to say it was pretty eventful for a first game.

I don't remember a whole lot from it though... I remember Guzman and Gardy getting tossed (Guzman hurled his bat and helmet at the pitcher).

September 27, 1983. Tigers at Orioles, Memorial Stadium. Todd Cruz strikes out four times in four at bats: my obsession with the Golden Sombrero begins.

My dad couldn't find the car after the game. We wandered around for (what I remember to be) an hour when BPD pulled up next to us and asked us what the hell we were doing alone in that neighborhood. The cops drove us around until we found our car. I couldn't have been more thrilled.

I was 7 years old and Reggie was my hero!! Yanks were 2 hit back to back doubles by Cerone and Winfield and only scored 1 run.
