Just filled out my ballot, and I would love to see Stanton make the All-Star game. Unfortunately, some of the best players in the NL are also outfielders, and Stanton plays for a very low-profile team. Here's a short list of the NL outfielders that I think will get votes ahead of Big Mike...

Berkman
Kemp
Braun
Bruce
Holliday

Players that could possibly be voted in before Stanton:

McCutchen
C. Gonzalez
Rasmus

Anyways, like I said, I'd like to see Stanton make the team, but he's probably a top-10 pick rather than a top-5 right now. If he doesn't make the team, is he still eligible for the Home Run Derby?

Not an All-Star this year BUT he should definitely be in the home run derby.

he would put on a show at the derby for sure, but he'll need to prove he's an allstar first.

You forgot Andre Ethier, who ranks 4th in the latest balloting.
Here's the results as of Friday:

1. Ryan Braun, Brewers: 1,588,342
2. Matt Holliday, Cardinals: 1,407,781
3. Lance Berkman, Cardinals: 1,382,436
4. Andre Ethier, Dodgers: 1,130,888
5. Matt Kemp, Dodgers: 918,269
6. Shane Victorino, Phillies: 787,987

Thanks for pointing that out.

Just as a reference for people who may be on the fence about Stanton...
In the last 30 days, here are his #'s as well as MLB ranking:

HR- 11 (#2 behind Kemp and ahead of Fielder, Ortiz and Teixeira)
TB - 70 (#4 between Bruce abd Fielder)
SLG - .737 (#3 right between Kemp and Fielder)
RBI - 24 (#8 with only Kemp and Bruce as the only NL OFers ahead of him)
OPS - 1.115 (#4 behind Fielder, Kemp, Ortiz and Morse)

In offensive terms, right now Kemp and Bruce (I guess Morse could be part of the conversation, but I'm not sure about him) are the only guys in the same stratosphere as Stanton.

Just sayin'.
