I'm really concerned about Brian Matusz...

His velocity is way down and he's trying rely on his offspeed stuff to get by, which has lowered his control considerably.

I noticed it the last two games he pitched but didn't say anything cause he pitched well. Now he looks terrible.

He had an oblique injury, right? It could be lingering, which, I assume, could impact his delivery quite a bit.

Yikes. Matusz has the stuff to get by without the big fastball and I don't think this is huge doom and gloom, but it's a massive knock.

Basically...Shaun Marcum potential if the velocity stays down.

Last three games he's averaged 86.9mph.

It really effected him today. He was all over the place.

Matusz is out and on the DL.

Matusz exited one out into the sixth inning with left hamstring cramping, as first baseman Derrek Lee signaled for a trainer to come to the mound to check on the O's starter. Matusz was helped down the dugout steps and replaced by reliever .....
