Does anyone know when Nick Franklin is coming off the DL??? He was due to come off the 7 Day DL for Double A Jackson on Tuesday but has still not played the last 2 nights. Any word?

The minor league "7-Day" DL can mean 7 days or the rest of the season...there is no "requirment" for the player to be activated after 7 days.

Oh, and I have no idea on the Franklin injury!

The Seattle Times reports Mariners SS prospect Nick Franklin, who had to be taken to a hospital on Monday after getting struck with a bat before a game for Double-A Jackson, didn't suffer any fractures. Franklin, who was struck in the jaw, is expected to be evaluated by a Mariners doctor on Tuesday. He is being checked out to see if he suffered a concussion. "He had some nausea, headaches and dizziness on the bus from Montgomery, but once he got off the bus it all subsided,'' Mariners director of minor-league operations Pedro Grifol said. "It's being treated as a possible concussion. If it is a concussion, we'll take the proper organizational protocol. If it isn't, we're looking seven days at the minimum (the length of a minor-league DL stint)."

Franklin was physically healed from the bat incident and was ready to return to Jackson, however he was then hit with a case of food poisoning which delayed his return to the first part of next week (hopefully)

Little update on Nick Franklin for those wondering. Apparently after being hit in the jaw by a bat before a game he developed a bad case of food poisoning and eventually developed mononucleosis. He has lost 12-14 lbs but appears ready to report to team facilities in Arizona to resume baseball activities as soon as tomorrow. They are trying to build back strength and no timetable is set for his return ::facepalm::

sounds like it might be awhile before he's back in action!

Is this a serious post? This thread seems like an SNL weekend update!

Unfortunately it is serious. And it's a total drag, I was hoping to see him early next year, now he's going to have to have a great recovery to make it out of spring training.
