After all the debate the last few days over Teherean or Vizcaino, I found this today.
Arodys Vizcaino, SP ATL
News: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Friday that Braves SP prospect Arodys Vizcaino will make the transition from starter to reliever for the remainder of the season in a move to limit his innings pitched. He was injured late last season after logging 85-plus innings and the team wants to avoid a repeat this year. The team also wants to leave the door open just in case a prospect is needed in the Atlanta bullpen during the playoff push. “We’ve talked about it a little bit, and we’ll continue to explore it,” Braves GM Frank Wren said. “But right now, we’re focused on just seeing how it all shakes out. That’s the main thing.” The 20-year-old Vizcaino has already worked 87 innings between Class A and Double-A ball in 2011.
Analysis: Vizcaino was named the No. 16 prospect in all of baseball in Baseball America's midseason report, and he has impressed at least one of his potential MLB teammates. “He has an unbelievable arm,” Martin Prado said of Vizcaino. “He’s one of those guys who, for me, can be here, like, right now. Easily. I guess they’re going to give him a period of time [to develop]..." Vizcaino's fastball was recently clocked at 98 miles per hour, so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his situation though his value remains higher in long-term formats.
