New to the hobby

Hey guys my name is Chad. I am really new to the hobby (as in super green), but have been looking for something to collect. I'm a fan of sports so this seems to be a great fit. Any advice on the hobby would be much appreciated. I'm still not sure where I want to focus. I know Bo Jackson is definitely on my list and some baseball players from my childhood (I'm 23) but other than that I have no idea.

Focus thoughts:
Bo Jackson
L.A./Oakland Raiders
L.A. Dodgers
UT Austin Football

Any thoughts, advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the hobby. I just got back in since I was a kid in the 90s. It's good to have specific collecting goals. When I came back in I collected everything that had Braves on it, now I focus mainly on Bravesautos. I did waste, IMO, a lot of money on those cards as I could have spent it on my specific PC. Just read up on the forums and learn as much as you can, which I'm sure you are doing.
