I know that they were produced in both 1914 and 1915 and that the back on the 1915's were upside down, but are there variations on the back of the 1914's?

I notice on the back of this Doyle that it shows "Our first issue '10,000,000' pictures", but on other players cards I've seen that number as 15,000,000 cards? Do variation exits for all players or only certain ones?

Thanks for any info!

Good question Ron..

I didnt even know the E145-1 had the 2 different numbers (10mil and 15mil).

Need to find out if the same player is found with both variation, or if just certain players have one and others the other. Big difference in interest....... It would be a big deal if players had both variations.

I handle far more 1915s than 1914s. I only have one 1914 right now a Bodie with the 15mil.

just looked at Lew Lipset's Encyclopedia and he says "the first 87 cards have 10mil, the succeeding numbers show 15mil"

but my Bodie is #79 so ? wtf :)

Post this question over on Net54 and see what they say, I thought I knew quite alot on both E145 sets but never knew of the 2 numbers... I always look at the "144 pictures" statement when I quickly ID the year

Thanks for following up Frank, that answer seems plausible, wonder why they are so scarce now if they print 15,000,000 cards in 1914.
