I came across this locally with a bunch of crap jersey cards and trash. Before I go off and pay for authentication, I wanted to see what the knowledge on this board had to say. Please vote in the poll and share why in the thread. Pic Cropped for more auto detail...

Im FAR from an expert, but the g's seem a little off to me. Might be the dotted background throwing me off though.

I paid very little for it due to the lack of paperwork and the g's did look questionable to me but I looked at quite a few Dimaggio autos on eBay and there is great variance. These examples appear similar with subtle differences in the g's...

There is GREAT variance in his signatures in general, I have one that a relative got IP and it just looks nothing like his mainsteam autos. However, the J in Joe and the g's do look very questionable. Maybe this one is worth sending into PSA because they obviously have extensive knowledge in all the variations of Dimaggios autos, could be worth taking a shot on.

Very true... I'm really just trying to weigh my options. I may post it on eBay and try Psa Quick Opinion.

Kea'au, HI
what item is that that he signed???

Many of his fakes are on cheap 8X10 photos, 3X5s, and baseballs...

here is my signed 1952 Exhibit for comparison

Fkw, after seeing yours I honestly may change my opinion to real signature. There are a lot of consistencies, the J looks the same, the g's look reasonably similar. I think this is now REALLY worth sending into PSA, if you post it on eBay now you'll get a small fraction of what you'd get if it was authenticated, plus if someone buys it and it is proved to be fake, they will throw a fit and even if you advertise it as not authenticated they will still throw a fit trust me  . Even with quick opinion, buyers will stay away unless it is authentic, and that is how you will maximize profit. Anyways, my advice to avoid a messy situation is just to find out for sure, who knows you might have hit a homerun with this one.

Yea, I was going to put an outrageous buy it now price on it just to use the quick opinion feature to get their take. I'm not trying to sell it. My true goal when I picked it up was to make a cut card.

FKW - thank you for posting. It is on an 8x10 that almost looks like a big card. It isn't in very good shape. I'm not at home or I would PM/post the full pic. I will try to do that later.
