An example would be 1996 Topps Laser. It was released one year and the brand was never seen again.

I don't know if it can be considered a one-time release, but I liked 2004 UD SP Prospects.

2001 Topps Fusion was pretty nice too, and it includes the only RC of Marco Scutaro and the only (MLB licensed) Jake Peavy RC auto.

2006 UD F/X was a fun cheap break. 5 autos a box and lots of #'d cards.

2008 UD Heroes was also fun but there was a 2005 HOF Heroes set that looked similar.

I really liked the Fleer/Skybox E-X cards that were issued for a couple of years in the late 1990's. The Essential Credentials numbering was clever I thought.
