2007 Tristar Elegance Longoria 1/1 Auto -

[ebay:3lj2gen5]220885684073[/ebay:3lj2gen5]

2007 Tim Lincecum Ref Auto /500

2006 Cameron Maybin Gold /50

[ebay:3lj2gen5]320786251131[/ebay:3lj2gen5]

2011 Cam Newton Pink /5

[ebay:3lj2gen5]320786239083[/ebay:3lj2gen5]

The Bowman Reds, Lincecum, and 2006 Gold Ref were cards that were backdoored without serial numbers. The serial numbers on these all look off. It is easier to tell on the Maybin and Lincecum.

There is no record in Beckett of a 1/1 Auto in Tristar Elegance.

The Pink Newton was a giveaway at a game, no numbered ones should exist.

Not to mention the seller has also sold Football Rookie Premier Autos.

Re: Are these real? 2009 Bowman Red 1/1

Saw those listing this morning and was thinking the same thing. I was going to look for other 1/1's from that set to compare font and placement but never did.

They have to be fake. There have been numberous unnumbered reds from 2009 Bowman floating around, the cards look like they were cut from a sheet, and the 1/1 stamping looks off, and his other auctions look like fakes as well.

Not fakes, but not 1/1s either. there was a red uncut sheet sold on ebay about a year or so a go, I'm pretty sure that these are the product of that uncut sheet.

Cutting them, tossing a 1/1 stamp on them and selling them as 1/1's seems to be fake to me.

The stamps on those 1/1 Bowmans don't look like the stamp on mine; I think mine's good. While there's sure to be some legit ones out there, these here seem to be what others here have said about them.

The zeros and fives are the biggest red flags. Topps changed the font/size in 06 to current from cards I compared in 05. The real serial numbers are more compact.

There are multiple uncut sheets of these out there. According to the shipping label, there were numerous sheets shipped to a card shop. I once aquired 19 unstamped Belliard red 1/1's from this set and the real 1/1. Then I knew there were 4 more in uncut sheet form. I saw 20 Fielders cut, unstamped. Add the 4 sheets and that's 24 confirmed sheets. Likely more...

The sheet I owned had these players-

Swisher Cruz Markakis Greinke A. Ramirez Utley Galarraga Dunn Sanchez Zimmerman Parnell Ibanez Cook Berkman Victorino Jacobs Dewitt Outman Atkins Polanco Bedard Longoria Cueto Wells Webb Reyes Davis Francoeur Fowler Weaver Maysonet Soriano Bradley Ordonez Abreu Sandoval Fielder Jaso Duchscheror C.Young Kotchman Belliard Posada Beltran Furcal Youkilis Rodriguez Martinez Drew Byrd Hughes DeJesus Braun Beckett M. Ramirez C. Young Herdon Hermida Ellsbury Miranda Garza Kershaw D. Lee Lincecum Griffey Jr. Hardy Jurrjens Pena Jeter Hudson C. Lee Nady Molina Volquez Molina Soto Konerko Maine Coke Jones McClouth Cano Olsen Werth Smith Drew Carpenter Morneau Sabathia Figgins Perez Dye Ka'Aihue Moyer Kazmir Bay Gamel Martis Zambrano Holliday Delgado Antonelli Cantz Cain Baisley Damon H. Ramirez Dempster

Went from printer in TX to card shop in MA. Then some were cut up in CT and sold on ebay. ebay user leximo had a full sheet that was cut up and sold.
Another uncut sheet was being offered on ebay but was unsold last I followed it. Here's his words...Those unnumbered red 09 Bowman are from uncut sheets topps gave out to their distributors. My local card shop gave out 1 uncut sheet for every 09 bowman box you bought. I own 4 of the sheets. They say "property of the topps co/not for resale" on the bottom of the sheet. Somebody must have has theirs professionally cut.

And then.....

I sent some into Beckett. Backdoored cards. Topps was aware of the situation. Topps stated it was unauthorized....blah blah. Beckett slabbed them.

http://www.beckett.com/grading/poprepor ... 93#results

They're in the Beckett database as: "2009 bowman red unnumbered". I don't think they were backdoored or unauthorized as sheets though.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you wrote. You dont think the sheets were backdoored? They were.

The problem isn't that there were unnumbered red cards out there.

The problem is that people are stamping numbers on cards.

The Evan Longoria is not a 1/1. It is an unnumbered auto with a stamp.

The Newton shouldn't be numbered either. Speaking of the Newton, a different seller has one that is gold stamped 1/1.

IMO, this is much worse than patch faking.

I'm also betting they are fakes.

I just looked at the 2009 Bowman Red stamped 1/1 in my collection and its gold stamping looks comparatively different than what appears on the 1/1s that are currently listed. The ebay seller lists a Cranston address. Providence is just down the road from Cranston. RISD is in Providence. Not saying art students made these but if misguided high school kids have access to equipment they could turn no numbers into knock off 1/1s and think themselves as geniuses. Seems like more trouble than its worth but what do I know.

There is nothing like fellow collectors sabotaging the integrity of the hobby.
