Now that this new product is starting to hit eBay, I thought I'd throw up a quick tracker thread and link some cards to get opinions on what people like/dislike.

[phil:1di3dzd7]260889986326[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Bench On-Card Auto
[phil:1di3dzd7]220890260510[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Brandon Belt On-Card Auto
[phil:1di3dzd7]260890644404[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Hosmer Auto in hand
[phil:1di3dzd7]280769266548[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Angel Pagan Auto - how many autos did this guy sign up for with Topps?
[phil:1di3dzd7]320790315422[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Ruth Bat
[phil:1di3dzd7]300621257711[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Hornsby Dual Bat
[phil:1di3dzd7]350505540228[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Gwynn Auto Throwback Unio
[phil:1di3dzd7]310357559814[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Koufax Jersey
[phil:1di3dzd7]310357576221[/phil:1di3dzd7] - Honus Wagner Base Parallel /50
[phil:1di3dzd7]120809067343[/phil:1di3dzd7] - McCovey Prodigous Patches

So what do you think of the cards thus far? Other auctions you see that you like?

It's not a throwback uni. It's what they wore in the early 80s.

You knew what I meant...it was an old picture with the '80s uniform on the card.

If this is an accurate sample, this looks like one of the most boring products ever made.

I honestly have to say after scanning through the auctions, that is a pretty accurate, if not overly positive representation of the product.

Sometimes I love these threads -- then there's sometimes I sit and hope that one card that I am looking to pick up doesn't end up on it.

Hopefully it alerts you of cards you hadn't seen previously before too so that it is a net neutral if not positive to your collection :)

After looking at multiple case breaks over on BO, it looks like your typical Topps higher end product.
I'm not surprised anymore, whenever they say two autos per box, you know it isn't going to be quality autographs.
Tier 1 is far from an accurate description of this product. Waaay too many Angel Pagans, Tyson Ross (who?), David Cooper, and Alex White type guys for me. In what Bizzaro world are these guys considered a top tier? And the Rickey Henderson redemtpion for a jersey relic is pretty funny as well.

LOL! I didn't see that but that's pretty hilarious.

Topps has never been able to make a decent high-end product.

None of this crap for me.

Please refer me to an on-card autograph product of this nature that doesn't involve a large number of "dogs." I remember busting a good bit of Donruss Signature in 1996-1998, and let me tell you, there were a ton of garbage autographs. Boxes of Archives cost $70 bucks and it wasn't uncommon to have about a $10-$15 ROI. Upper Deck products were infamous for producing a limited number of amazing chase cards at the expense of having brutal dud boxes rather commonplace. I understand the frustration around this fact, but I'm not exactly sure what people want, other than for card companies to take huge losses and go out of business. These cards are everything that collectors say they want in HOF, All Star, and rookie autographs:

Buying these products has always been a gamble and always will be. I think the wise move is to let other people rip and buy the singles. But to kill this product this early strikes me as unfair given what collectors say they want out of this type of product.

Why is Topps suddenly in love with "cloud backgrounds?" There have been a few products this year like that. Inception football comes to mind, and I know there was at least one other.

I agree and would add buying wax has always been the same. A similar conversation in 1984:
"I bought a pack of Topps and pulled the following: Jim Gott, Joe Altobelli, Dan Schatzeder, Steve Nicosia, Luis Aponte, Larry Biittner, Bruce Berenyi, Johnny Ray AS, Bob Shirley, George Wright (with gum stain), Marc Hill, Leon Roberts, Bill Scherrer, Lee Tunnell and Howard Bailey. Boy I was pissed for not pulling a Brett or Jackson...or any card worth more than 7 cents...screw Topps!"

I don't know why people think paying more up front entitles them to greater ROI.
