As long as I live, I will never understand BA's love affair with Kelly. He's still yet to justify his lofty ranking as a pro, at least IMO. I'd take Sampson over him anyday.

Erlin has arguably some of the best command in the minors, but was 8th? :?:

And I probably would have fit in Castro at the bottom of the 10 somewhere.

LOADED.
Thought Erlin would be higher.

Loaded, exactly. We finally have an awesome farm system. Just think of the depth too; list leaves off Decker, Rincon, Fuentes, Castro, among others.

Exciting times ahead.

No James Darnell, either? This system is pretty loaded - I'm not sure where 19braves77 was looking, but there is definitely some talent there.

I have to agree with Jaypers on this one, the love for Casey Kelly is a little strange considering he didn't exactly live up to expectations this year. Although he did do fairly well in AA as a 21 year old, the results need to be a little better for me to rank him that high.

A very depressing farm system.
Would love to hear how this is a depressing system.

And as others have mentioned, how is Erlin 8th? He was a top 50 guy midseason for BA I think. I realize these lists are done individually, but that doesn't make sense.

Just jumping in late on this discussion.
Kyle Gaedele was a 6th rounder for the Padres this past year.
I am friends with his uncle and watched this kid grow up.
Actually played whiffle ball with him in the yard when he was younger!
He may have a nice future with your Padres.
He is the great nephew of the (in)famous Eddie Gaedele the midget from the Bill Veeck stunt of yesteryear.
Nice kid.
