In my opinion a patch like that on Carlton in a card like that with an auto would have been a 1/1, if it isn't a 1/1 then I would say handle it suspiciously, get a magnifying glass or something that can really magnify the card and check the corners and edges very carefully for tampering. The goods news for you if that there is still an auto on there which is obviously authentic so although we'd hope the patch was authentic you'll definitely have value left from the auto. Personally even if I knew that patch was fake I'd buy it for HOF PC for the auto.
