Do they rebound if he has a big year or stay the same due to him being at 3rd?

Hanley has already said the only guy he'd move to 3rd for is Jose Reyes, so shouldn't be a deal breaker.

He has also said he doesnt WANT to move off SS, so we'll see if he's just bluffing at making a stink or if he's really gonna be a problem.

If he hits like last year then prices will go down. If he hits like every other year of his career then prices will remain the same or go up from last years drop.

Performance matters far more than position.

Exactly my thoughts.

MWash, why bring this up again? Hanley Ramirez, no matter if he plays SS or 3B has superstar ability. Whether he performs or not will be what determines how his cards move(up or down). It has nothing to do with him moving to 3B IMO. Also, signing Reyes seems to symbolize that the Marlins are serious about investing money into the team-which can only help the exposure Hanley gets if they build a contending team in Miami.

Still collect him, but recent baseball releases have really bored me. Focusing more on basketball, football and hockey now.

Agreed. Before this past season he was one of the most dynamic hitters in baseball at any position.

Agree in someway. Because SS stat number expectation is not as high as 3B
This happen to AROD his card didn't go up much even when he won MVP in 2007 compare to his 2003 as SS.

Let's take all the real facts of performance out of the picture and look at the things that really drive card prices. With the way this Marlins team is being constructed, and certainly if they land Pujols, Hanley will get more air time on ESPN than he's ever had. Air time and hype will drive prices up.

I'd be surprised if Hanley stepped aside for Reyes, but with Arod and Jeter's egos, it's pretty surprising Arod stepped aside for Jeter.

C'mon guys, it's Hanley. Of course this will be a problem.

Imagine if the Marlins sign Pujols/Fielder and overtake the Phillies in 2012.

They should have plenty of money from years (and years) of revenue sharing to make a HUGE splash!

Bingo. If the Marlins win, finally develop a following, and Hanley hits, his cards will be much more in demand than if the Marlins remained mediocre and he remained at SS.
