Tonight was pretty cool. My folks came down for the holidays so my dad joined me
Tonight to meet his favorite Yankee and one of my favorite players growing up.
it is also pretty cool cause my name and my dads name is Don as well.

As usual like last year when I went to a past signing with him
He was Awsome. The LA sun must be magical cause he looks like
He can put a uniform on again.

Got a 16x20 signed which hopefully can be completed by McGwire in
Spring training

I got to hang out w him in hawaii in feb 2003 when he was the ST batting coach.

two of the questions I asked him were:
1. what do u think of (then rookie) matsui?
He said that he will be a star, but won't hit 50hrs a season.
He was spot on!

2. Asked hin what he thought of "super prospect" drew henson.
He replied something like "well, I have to work w him" ;)

His way of saying the man sucks.
Yeah, spot on again.

Stuff looks awesome, Don! Thanks again for the heads up about this. Donnie Baseball is my all time favorite player and my idol growing up. And as previously stated, he couldn't have been a cooler guy!

Here's my haul:

He signed my 84 Donruss in black, but I'm fine with that. What an awesome night!

He was the guest at a University of Tennessee baseball clinic I attended in like 1987 or 1988. I got to hear some great tips from him (not that I remember them now) and got a 1985 Topps and a 1987 Topps card autographed (free auto for the first 500 people registered for the clinic). I must admit, I was "star-struck" when meeting him and quite nervous. It was an awesome experience though.

That's awesome, why not do what you want even if its out of your comfort zone. Good to see Donnie has lost some of his off season home life drama.
