I buy from him a lot. Never had any problems. He doesnt ship with delivery confirmation a lot so I usually hit him with several chargebacks. I figure it evens everything out with him shilling.

I really, really hope this was a joke..

Why does any one care that he puts a made up arbitrary value on his cards in his ebay title?

My problem isn't him putting arbitrary values, my problem is moreso when he misrepresents cards. For example, he had a 2008 prime cuts quad Jim Thorpe 1/1. Plain jersey pieces, no patches at all. In the title, he advertised it as a 1/1 with logo patches and estimated the sell value to be $8,000. It went over $800, which is very, very close to a Thorpe baseball logo patch price.

I took it as one myself...

I'm over this guy... I think it is clear he SHILLs and if I bid on any of his auctions I have no one to blame but myself if I get screwed or shilled.

If you see a card on EBAY, figure out how much you want to pay for the card and snipe it.. If you win the card, then you have the card at your price or less.. If you don't win the card, then someone else wanted the card more and move on..

When I find an item I want, I put my bid on Gixen and then forget about it..

good luck on your collection..

Definite shiller and they should be reported, I still buy from them, but know I am paying 20% over, when someone bids 29.99 you know that is a good hint.

.......................Ok, sorry to get off point with this..But please explain what you mean?? I am extrememly curious!!

Are Big Boyd and Wolverine24 one and the same? I had heard that Wolverine got booted from eBay for shilling also, and Big Boyd "acquired" Wolverine's inventory. I can't remember the specifics, exactly.

ive heard something on that line too........... i picked up one or 2 things in the past from him, no problems

I've monitored some of his shilling over the past few years and told myself NEVER to bid on any of his items. But last week I bought an auction from him that was NOT shilled. Kept checking the bid history up until the time I manually snipped it. Most of the stuff that is sniped is high dollar, rarer items, the one I won was for $4 and change. But some times he'll even snipe the lower end items, using MANY different alias. Like it was mentioned above some of them are 90%+ bid history with him. The only reason I purchased the item from him is because I was 100% sure it wasn't sniped. He was the only person with this particular listed via auction so I took the plunge.

He also was big into the backdoored Bowman Chrome and Bowman Sterling cards that came out unnumbered a while back.
He originally was putting that the cards were unnumbered.
Then he changed it to say that "Beckett stated a print run of /XX" when they really were supposed to be numbered.
He had some legit numbered ones mixed in that were listed properly, so he knew what he was doing.

1) Ebay should kick him out.
2) I had always thought he was a shiller, especially with the last card I won, and know I probably paid 20% more than I should have or 20% higher than it would go for if no shilling took place by this seller.
3) If you see bidders bid 29.99 or 9.99, etc it is a pretty blatant indicator that someone, a friend, or acquaintence is bidding up their auctions for them, because generally people bid 30.09 or 10.09, etc.

Curiosity should be gone :)

I actually bought a card of him recently and it was not shilled and got a decent price on it. I was actually surprised because I have called him out on other forums before because he is a notorious shiller

If this is true, I would believe it and stay away from these guys, even Wolverine24, if you have ever seen these guys at shows, you know what I am talking about. They think they are the DONALD TRUMPS of the card industry.

Again, I know he can shill every auction of his but he does it frequently and mostly on higher ticket cards. This is a FACT. Otherwise, your right, he probably doesn't shill them all.

Exhibit A: Top bidder I'm looking at has 1,300 bids across 1,280 items in the last 30 days! O and 97% of his bids are with this guy! Lol get it? Clear?

Actually I tend to bid .90 or .99 on cards I own at least one copy of, I don't disagree with the small amount over the dollar but please don't assume that every bid urn the rounded dollar is a shill.

It more than likely is, never said all are, but these shillers want to not hit as some people just bit round numbers and they know it gets them top dollar on cards. Also his description of MINT is like a PSA 7 or 8.

I think that combined with 97% bid activity is a pretty safe bet...;)

Not saying he is not a shill......my point was that a bid slightly under the rounded dollar is not a clear sign of a shill. Brauny called this a "blatant indicator", while there might be fact behind this is should not be the guiding fact to a shill.
