If that's the case, insert my quote from above here. So Brian, did you fire the person response for that blunder, or was it something that was outsourced, so you can't fire the person directly?

Yes.

In my opinion, you can't have stuff like this happen if you want your company to be taken seriously.

That's certainly laughable as well, but considering that Upper Deck has both feet in the grave and is bailing the dirt out at a slower pace than it's being shoveled down upon them, I don't know if I'd use them as a good measuring stick.

Trying to get this thread back on topic, I will say that some of the combination cards aren't too bad (saw a nice Jeter / Torre / Martinez card), which would be nice if all of the base card didn't look so damn bush league. I honestly think I'd rather have signed index cards than these things.

It is like UD took the heritage of SP Signature and slapped a band-aid over it.

Plus, UD couldn't have redemptions because I don't think any athlete probably would sign for them right now - at least not without money up front.

My suggestion for this product would be to buy up a sticker of a guy you like and give it to Mike (200lb.) to cut up and make a decent looking card out of. If we're talking about a high-end guy, you could end up with a really decent card for a really decent price.

This is going to be a tough sell at the shop. The exclusion of photos is terrible.

I'm not sure why anyone would want any of these cards, nothing attractive about them and the are so many options to buy more attractive autographs from the same players.

I told you guys last week in another thread... Bg

Ps- my durant sticker rookie autos don't look so bad all the sudden

Great job spiking the ball in the endzone for a product that has zilch to do with yours. You guys sure one up'ed them by placing a sticker on a card you had nothing to do with.

You really should have stuck one of those Durants to your reply button.

happy 4th! :D

Ok, so your justification for quality is secondary market price? Should we now interject your train of thought in to Razor? Metal? Valiant?? Or is it only valid when trying to prove a point? None the less, MANY hobbyists did not like the frankenstien cards you homebrewed and the fact that this Durant RC auto concoction is only selling for $150 or so proves this. If it were a widely accepted form of collectable it stands to reason it would be a $1000+ card based on popularity/rarity, ect...

No, my point is that people want them. I honestly believe UD would have been better suited doing buyback sticker autos that these sticker cuts., Bg

At least Upper Deck created their own name rather than buying a name with 60 years of history behind it.

And that name (ud) will be up for sale and owned by someone else in due time probably.. Ownership of every company has changed in time or will..

Back on topic, this product is very poor.

No one is perfect (especially me as my fans have pointed out), but they did this on purpose!!!!

UD has really fallen from grace. Lost licenses, unable to pay players and now this garbage. Takes some effort to put out cards worse than some of the "World of Sports" cards. Let's not forget that they are still yet to announce a release for 2011 Exquisite Football. You read that right, 2011.

Would I buy a box? Certainly not. Would I buy an auto of my guy for the PC? Sure why not - if it was cheap. what's the difference between this and a postcard with the guys auto on it that auto hounds love to have.

I'd dish out a couple bucks for a Markakis or Brian Roberts or a Wieters.
