Charged a separate fee for NOT selling an item? This doesn't even seem legal. What if the item is lost or damaged? This is kind of crazy. You would be better off just letting the auction end and telling the winner the card was lost/stolen so you get your fees back with a cancellation
Guessing that would be the rare occurance that you are allowed in 1 calendar year. If you constant list items that have already been sold... kepe better track of your inventory.
Again it will prevent the seller from cancelling an auction because they dont like the way the bidding has gone.
A few weeks ago I was high bidder on a blue wave Bichette Jr auto @ 55.00 (my max bid was alot more) and the seller end the auction with about 14 hrs to go.
I thought the card was sold off ebay until a week later it was offered at a BIN at $189.00
IMHO I am glad eBay is doing this to prevent crap like this
At the expense of all those who end items early for valid reasons.
Yeah. So if your house is broken into and someone steals all your stuff that is currently listed on eBay, or a flood/tornado wipes out your entire inventory, you get charged up the ass ALONG with losing your inventory? That seems like a GREAT idea.
If the $.99 card regularly sells for $25... im sure you get charged the FVF for a $25 transaction... which is what.. $3??
Well im guessing in both of those situations... as long as you can provide enough proof that it happened... you wont get charged a fee. But if the same person has a tornado/flood 2-3 times a year and gets broken into 4-5 times a year.... eBay is likely the last thing they should be doing between such horrific instances.
How many auctions are ended for reasons other than being scared because the current price is too low or off eBay direct offers?
It's called ethical business practices. You can't legally rip people off even if it's in the TOS. It was more tongue-in-cheek anyway, so relax.
Sorry not trying to start anything with you in particular
You think it's an ethical business practice to use a service and then cancel a transaction to avoid paying what you originally agreed to pay when you agreed to use their service??
Let me ask you a question suppose you had put some cards in your neighborhood LCS display case with an agreement that you would give the owner 8% of what the card sold for. And the owner finds someone interested in your card and then you go into the store pull the card and tell him you changed your mind on selling it. You then track the buyer down and sell him the card outside of the store. You find this ethical ?? I sure don't
You already paid for the card to be there. It is your choice to whom and when to sell it. In this case, you are paying for something NOT happening. No sale, there should be no fee other than the up-front fees. This is only going to raise prices on eBay and there will be less listed.
Do you use eBay? You really think that they would EVER do the right thing when it comes to customer service? The person who barely speaks English sitting over there in India will understand when you explain your entire inventory was stolen and you shouldn't be charged? lol Yeah.
How many are ended for valid reasons? You don't see that this is not good for those people? It's a backwards move that undermines the entirety of eBay to fight a minority that abuses the system.
Resorting to name calling over something as petty as this, dude?
Obviously, I was wrong by saying they were "screwing" people.
Does that make you feel better?
