That '83 Rickey Henderson DK was one of my favorites growing up.
I always liked the '85 Diamond Kings best.
The '92s and '93s were nice too, and were the first insert DKs.
It's odd that from 1982 to 1993, Donruss used the same top banner and bottom name banner, except for one year in 1984, when Donruss got weird with the drapery bunting campaign-style banners.
The 1988s always strike a chord with me since that was the first set I ever collected.
Speaking of the 1984 DKs, how scarce are the corrected"Perez-Steele" cards? I've never seen one in person, and can't recall seeing any online other than a few graded examples on COMC.
I never liked DK as a kid. They seemed so cheezy for some reason. But I'm over that. I get the appeal and, for the most part, like them. Paintings are a welcome addition to the hobby.
My personal favorites would be 1982 and 1990, primarily because I love the background colors and style. I don't care much for Perez's style, personally, but I love that the cards exist and I miss the unique set that is Donruss Diamond Kings.
I like the 1992 Diamond Kings because that is when they became an insert instead of just a subset. Also, is the 1993 DK Griffey pictured actually a 1992?
