anybody that cant attend the morneau signing but want signed 8x10(s) want to donate coats? you can ship the coats to me and i get get the photo(s) for you and ship them to you

If you don't want to go all the way to Rochester, Yellow Pages shows 6 thrift stores within about 20 minutes of Chatfield.

http://www.yellowpages.com/chatfield-mn/thrift-stores

I don't know if it's accurate or not, as I'm not familiar with the area at all.

rochester is too far from here but just money is a lil tight to be spendning on alot of jackets

If I wouldn't have bought 3 coats for this I'd be more than willing to chip in to help Devin. TBTwinsFan bought some coats for me at a thrift shop since being about 10 hours away from the cities made it impossible to participate myself

Only 20 miles.

I drove 36 to get to school this morning.

I do hear you on the $$ though. It cost me close to $90 to gather up all the coats that I did.

I'm reading the TF rumors thread on Neshek's...

Yikes... If some of those things are true, I won't be attending.

It's bad enough that it's at Target Field.

Ya. I just read that thread. It doesn't sound too promising at the moment.

I got an email from my season ticket rep with the Twins stating they could not guarantee tickets to season ticket holders this year as it was going to be an extremely limited event and much different than in years past. If you're going to only let in half of the people you did (or less?) than last year it does make a bit of sense to make the admission price $20 especially when it goes to charity.

I also don't have a problem with charging for some of the minor league guys especially when the lines for these players have been so long. They used to just lump all of the minor league guys together with the major leaguers and the retired guys at one table and that seemed to work in the past prior to the Down on The Farm years.

I will say this years event still may be crowded and cold (especially when moving between legends club and town ball tavern or other parts of the stadium)

Some of those venues require more than a year booking and they cost a good chunk of money compared to having it at Target Field or the Dome.

True but the Twins knew/ suspected the Dome was coming down right? Would a venue give the Twins a discount since it would get good PR? If Target Field is cheap but attendance suffers, wouldn't a better venue improve the show?

The Blaine Sports Complex would be better than TF IMO.
Ive been in the hollows of TF, it sucks down there, no matter how the Twins want to spin it as being a better venue.
Lets be honest here, the Twins are cheap thru and thru, that is why it is at TF and not TC, or Xcel, or Convention Center, or any DT Mpls Hotel with huge conference rooms.
They have more than doubled the price of admission and taken away more than half the stuff to do there, cut dealer tables down to one per deal (I think), and have blown up the auto structure, which I am not opposed too, as long as they do it right. As we know with the Twins and their management and marketing, there is no doubt this is going to be a straight up Cluster F of a Twinsfest.
Unless I am blown away by something when more details come out, this looks to be my first missed Twinsfest in 10+ years.

The jump in admission doesn't really bug me that much, because it's only $20, or the "cost of a blaster."

What does bug me (besides the location) is the charging for prospects. I'm all for money going to charity, but we all know the system is going to be abused.

Assuming they are going to be there (which I have no clue), put Buxton and Sano (either separately or together) at a different table all-together and charge for them.

I also don't like the 1-table per dealer, but I don't really do much at the show.

You dont see a problem with the price hike as you were a one day attender.
I was a three day attender, so going from $27 total ($9 per day in advance) to $20 a day ($60 total), no discount for advanced tickets is a total kick in the nuts to me.

Just curious by what you mean by "we all know the system is going to be abused" in regards to the prospects?

I saw the same people going through the prospect lines getting 9 of the exact same card signed. This seems like individuals abusing the system. The free autographs need to stop and/or there needs to be a one per person rule (Sano instituted this himself last year).

The attendance this year is going to be dramatically reduced even from last year or the year it was in Blaine (I believe tickets were $20 in Blaine too). If you attend there should be no reason you can't get Mauer or whomever else you wanted.

The tickets were not $20 in Blaine.
Twinsfest tickets have never been more than $15 at the door.
It always made sense to buy advance tickets for $9, as that was all it really was worth to get into Twinsfest.
Mauer will be a piece of cake to get this year. Last year was year two of the wristband distribution and Mauer was done with signing for each of his three sessions prior to the end of the allotted time. Reason being, attendance was dramatically reduced from the previous years, whether people want to chalk it up to "weather" or lack of "big league" players, this year will be no different.
