Pants in July 2014 sold for $10k so maybe it's under listed ;)

Ryan

Ryan I hope your joking man, lol, there is a huge difference between recycled pants ( the pieces in the topps card) and pants the were only worn by Musial himself. Not only that but the pants that sold for 10k came with an authenticity letter from mears the other did not. One more thing the pants that sold for 10k were from 1954 when Musial hit 330 and had an ops of over 1000 and the pants from the topps card are from 1961 when Musial had one of his worse war years hitting 288 and a modest .860 ops. Which would you pay more for? lol

Soooooo... why did this end so cheap?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2002-Donrus...2FzXixZu2YzGzuERdPq2I%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I was the underbidder - so, had I not bid, this would have ended under $80 (unless someone else jumped in). If I would have known that it was going to end so slow, I would have went with a snipe instead of just a simple bid, but my bid was only a "dream" bid. I figured this thing would end in the $250 - $325 range.

So, what's the deal? Fake?

Is the winner in this thread? If so, Ott is one of my dream cards to own so I would love to work out something with you that is reasonable.

The pics in that auction are terrible and, if it is a real patch, don't do a card like that justice. Could the patch be piping from the sleeve? There is a picture of the source jersey on back of the card but not much can be made out besides Ott wearing #4 .

I didn't want to even touch it with a bid. My gut tells me fake. Just because it is numbered out of 50 and I don't recall ever seeing anothe ott patch from that set.

with that being said their are a lot of ott patches out there with the sleeve or neck stripe like this card. Since it is a early 2002 card it is entirely possibly it could just be a manufactures goof and it is legit. Gut says no though. If it is real then under 100 is the all time price steal for a ott

Going to post two of the best vintage patches I have ever seen. I kinda forgot about the cards until I looked above my office desk this weekend where they were sitting ha. Jerry Coleman wasn't the great or most well known player, however it just doesn't get better then old flannel Yankee pinstripes with the felt patch in them...and in jumbo size!

I think it was too questionable with the high numbering and people just love perceived scarcity. Anything numbered to 10 or less with that patch sells for 2-3x what this sold for.

Anyone here pick up Rizzuto Patch , or Laundry Tags of Reggie , Catfish , or Carew last night ? I won a Leo tag but Auction Sniper didn't fire on those 4 and they went for a decent amount less than my snipes. Wasn't happy , but what can ya do. Just curious if anybody in here got them.

I bid and won the rizzutto patch. Can't believe how cheap it went. I didn't even have a high bid in on it. Bummer your snipe didn't work:(

I bought the dimaggio tag though :)

Congrats on the JD , cool piece for sure ! A seller ryanscardz or something like that had some nice pieces ending too like a Jackie patch, but I didn't bid on those. *** ah , I see he was the Joe guy also

My snipe was set at 52 on the Rizzuto so you may have still won. The Reggie, Catfish and Carew I was 50% more than what they went for. Was happy w the Leo as it went a decent amount less than the last few.

That Eddie went about $50 higher than I figured.

W/ donuts , man some weren't even close to my guesses. Sniper didn't fire on the Rafey (I like that card for some reason) , but it did on the Yount and Reggie Ultimate patches which I had forgot I even entered.

But I was way off on the Marion , Musial , Bagwell TOTT (what the heck) , Cronin , Killebrew (some sold for $30ish a few years ago), and the Randy and Pedro Ultimate Patches I was WAY off esp the Pedro.

I bid 51 on rizzutto ha sorry ;) card prices were like a Rolla coaster last night ha. Was happy with the price of the dimaggio too...I could handle 1500. Only the 2nd dimaggio tag I've ever seen. I picked up the Marion too!

On the killebrew patches, people have told me I have single handed ruined and inflated the killebrew patch market cuz I pay way too much for his stuff haha. Not sure if that's true or not but I was happy at 150 for the killebrew stat patch

Ha , well enjoy the Rizzuto ;) And congrats on your other additions. Def some amazing pieces you guys have. And I am sure you have effected the Killer market. The Stat patch was a nice piece, so more power to ya.
