Yep, you read that correctly.
Since the All Star Break, A's third baseman Josh Donaldson is currently 5th in MLB with a 1.007 OPS. Here are the top four:
1. Buster Posey 1.118
2. Miguel Cabrera 1.047
3. Giancarlo Stanton 1.012
4. Albert Pujols 1.011
Donaldson was hitting .153 with 1 HR and 7...
It's interesting to see that only 3 of 26 voters think that he will break the record. If I had asked this question three or four years ago, I would guess it would have been closer to 50%.
After thirteen straight 30 HR seasons, Arod seemed destined to pass Barry Bonds and end his career as the all time HR king. At 35 years old and 613 career HRs (at the end of the 2010 season), most fans assumed the title would one day be his. However, at age 37, he no longer is hitting HRs at...
But the bigger question is this: Does Melky Cabrera get any votes? He was certainly a big part of getting the Giants in contention, and it looks like he will end up leading the NL in hitting.
Back on topic, my vote goes to Cutch.
I found these four players with 8 RBIs in a loss. I didn't find any with more than 8.

Johnny Kling (1902), Pinky Higgins (1938), and Walt Dropo (1952) all had 12 consecutive hits.
Bernie Williams (2002), Johnny Pesky (1946), and Tris Speaker (1920) all had 11 consecutive hits.
Ethier is tied with others for the 7th best streak after the above six.
I wasn't aware of it.
I was researching the players with the lowest batting averages this year, and forgot to sort from lowest to highest, so it listed the highest averages. I saw Melky was 2nd and that he had 501 PAs, and remembered that 502 was the minimum for a 162 game season, and just...
While doing some research earlier today, I came across Melky's numbers for this season and noticed something of interest. Melky currently has 501 plate appearances this season. His 50 game suspension means that he won't be playing again this season.
In 1957, MLB established new rules for...
