    MrMopar's New Dodgers Autograph Thread

The purple LoDuca showed up today as well as this great looking card. Not as cool as his 74T, but a nice runner up.

My new PC focus: The funniest names in sports

I must say, if you are going to chase commons, at least you are grabbing better versions of their cards. i'd do the same if I were doing that same thing. I like that Clapp auto. I think I bought a cheap auto of his, just for the odd name as well.

    Unopened - What to do?

Nice, I had a few of those Mexican packs, but of course I had to bust them. I don't think I got anyone decent (probably resealed!). I think they had gum in them and it was brutal on the card touching it, if I recall correctly.

    MrMopar's New Dodgers Autograph Thread

Today brought a Crime Dog & another Lonestar card. I have been trying to win one of these for a while and was finally successful at my price range. Sometimes this backfires, but a fair amount of the time if I am patient enough, I finally get to pay my price. I'd like to see this man in the...

    Unopened - What to do?

Like many other collectors, I find in necessary to leave things exactly as they were issued. This is a newer thing, of course. As a kid, I'd rip anything open I could get my hands on. As i have matured in my collecting, original issue condition holds an important part in my collection. That...

    2022 HOF Class ballot...

It is interesting what you find when you dig into stats like that. It certainly paints him as a HOFer when you put it that way. Of course, I am of the mindset that we have been a little too stringent in the voting. I am saying a little bit elitist, not talking about flat out opening the gates...

    MrMopar's New Dodgers Autograph Thread

3 from the boxed set that set folks back $100 from Topps. I like the design, but figured the set was worth maybe $35, so the autos were $65. Not worth it. I got each of these for much less than the price of 1 new from a set, but my chances of pulling a Koufax was 0% too. Would love to piece...

    2021 AL & NL MVP's, CY's and ROY's?

At one point, I was trying to keep up with a collection that included a signature of every ASG roster member, as well as all the major award winners. Eventually, I had to give up. From the 2021 list, I sadly only have an autograph from Robbie Ray. It used to be a lot easier, but new superstar...

    St. Louis Cardinals Collectors Thread

Weird that a decade old thread with 150+ pages on a subject as wide as a specific baseball team would go dormant for over 2.5 years and then have a random bump bring it back alive that adds nothing to the content. This may be one of my most favorite Cardinal card images ever... definitely the...

That is nice, I would upgrade mine to that if I had the chance!

    MrMopar's New Dodgers Autograph Thread

This interesting little booklet is the only item for today. From what I can see, Historic Autographs is essentially a repackaging company. They seem to take aftermarket items and make new collectibles out of them. Essentially a custom card maker if you want to look at it that way. It took a...

    Dilferules's 1988-present Oakland A's autograph thread

A few more Dodger crossovers. When I was going to Olympic College in Bremerton in the mid 90s, one of my teachers was related to Todd Stottlemyre. I don't remember the details, but have to assume her name was the same, otherwise how would I have ever known. I probably asked and mentioned it...

My new PC focus: The funniest names in sports

I had heard someone offer up Craven Morehead as a good name like that. I have never actually seen anyone with that name, BUT I did notice this driving in COMCs backyard one day, saw the sign for his office and thought to myself that I had to be the only adult alive who would see this and think...

    Any idea on these cards?

I bought a bunch of packs of the card inside jumbos not that long ago. It was easier to tell from the back that a card was inside, but none of these pictured sure look like their is a baby inside them! Sure enough, that is them. This is the thread that inspired me to buy them. I didn't get...
