I know someone asked for my address so they could share these with me, but for the life of me I can;t figure the screen name of who it is. I know it was Ryan Rodd, but I want to send him a personal thanks for these (and to figure out how to get the rest of the 'set')
Ryan, please contact me!
I've been working on my site for a couple years now, but it's mainly for data and not for scans. I use Google and it's pretty darn easy. I am thinking of using Picasa for my pics going forward (vs Photobucket) and that should make adding pics/scans easier...
If they had made them as true mini's (ala A&G, GQ etc) I would totally get into the prospecting thing. But the oversized mini's that Topps has fallen in love with over the last couple years are a real turn off.
And for all the mini haters, if you have tobacco-sized mini's that you want out of...
My last mini buying thread has yielded some fantastic results, thought I'd narrow the search a bit as funds are dwindling.
Looking specifically for 1999 Private Stock mini's, still need a ton for the base (blue back) set and nearly all of the red back set.
Check your old boxes!
Personally I prefer being a set collector. I PC'd Will Clark and Mark Grace for many years and it gets to the point where you either have enough money to keep up with the big guys or you just have start resigning the rare stuff as unobtainable. I switched to building sets in 2010 and I love it...
Thanks, just shot him a PM. I've seen these around in common boxes for several years and they don;t seem to get much love but being that there are so many versions/variations I can see them turning into something of a Topps Tek-like future.
I read through this thread a couple days ago and found a bunch at the local show this morning, if anyone needs any of these or wants to know the card#'s just let me know I'll list them if there is any interest
That was one of my favorite sets from '98. I once had a full base set that I've since pieced away but I would always be down for cracking more of this stuff, so simple, no inserts and building the Preferred set was a really fun challenge...have fun with it!
Very nice pickup on the Edgar! Why can't Topps produce cards like they used to? The Finest Masters they made this year are an attempt but the quality is just nowhere near these.
I'd be upset and I would also wonder who got that Ruth cut auto as a replacement, also I would request their contact info to confirm that they actually made the card.
