Nice. I've started this set about 10 times now.
Thanks! I have the complete set of 1997; trying to complete the 1994 and 1995 sets as well. The 1995 set is my favorite from the 90s in terms of design, not to mention the decent rookies in it. Refractors are even better but I don’t have the funds to complete that set.

Not a fan of the mirror image subset from the 1995 set; instead of chrome they used foil, so scanning definitely doesn't showcase the cards as well as the rest of the set. Still, leaves me with 14 left of the mirror image cards to go.

I don't normally buy Panini baseball (logo's) but decided to grab a few packs of Optic to see what it looked like. I think they have officially "Jumped the Shark" with the parallels. I pulled a Bryan Reynolds Crisis (Toilet Paper) parallel.

Weird variety of stuff today:

The Dilfer is another "buyback" out of 2020 Panini Honors. They had four /2 cards in the set, one /3, and ten 1/1s. I only have one 1/1 (have only seen one or two others pop up), the /3, and this one /2...they don't really show up for sale much. I've made some okay progress on my 2002 Topps Chrome Black Refractor team set this year, going from 14 needed at the start of the year to 9 now. Tyson Ross was the last non-auto 2010 Topps Chrome Red Refractor I needed, but I do still need the signed versions of this one and Josh Donaldson. As a bonus this one is 25/25. And the McGwire is a 1987 Sportflics Rookie Disc...these are a little tough and every time I've looked this year the only ones available on eBay had quite high BINs. Biding my time paid off because one finally came up for auction with a low minimum bid. I won it for a whole dollar.

Forgot to scan these: 1997 Finest Silver, 1997 Finest Silver Embossed, and 1997 Finest Silver Refractor. Just need the embossed refractor to complete the "rainbow". Can't really tell the embossed in the scan (middle) but the way to tell normally is because the card didn't have the protective film.

A couple of not especially amazing ones today:

I love Gold Refractors but in the last couple of years even the RC autos of scrubby players have been selling for waaay more than what they are worth to me. Got lucky on this Jonah Heim, the seller somehow managed to not put the words "gold" or "refractor" in the auction title. Got it for $6.50 plus shipping.

05tcref_600.jpgNot sure why this is considered a “throwback” insert from 2005, but my only guess is because Topps wasn’t lazy with the chrome cards and actually added etching and depth to the cards, including the players. Still, it’s a decent card and serial #’d to 100.

They used random prior designs for those Throwbacks. Champ Bailey’s uses 2004. I’m not sure how any were determined. The Delhomme looks like 1996

Yeah after looking at other cards in the set, I see what they were attempting.

2004 Topps Fan Favorites Jose Canseco Autograph - SP with a stated print run of 100. Fan Favorites SP autos from the original 2003-05 run can be very tough to find, so I was willing to overlook the crappy centering on this card when the price dropped into a range I was comfortable with. I hope to someday get all of the A's autographs from 2003-05 but I'm still 6 short after adding this one.

A couple of color refractors out of 2021 Bowman Chrome. I go after all of the regular Refractors, Blue Refractors, and Gold Refractors, and pick up the other colors when I happen to see a good deal. I pretty much ignore all the Shimmers and Mega Box colors nowadays. There's too much out there, have to focus on what I actually like the most.

Don't "know" him/her but I've bought quite a bit from them and always had good results.

Not a lot of mail today but part of it was a huge pickup for my son's Stephen Piscotty collection so quality over quantity I guess.

2016 Topps Chrome RC Red Refractor #5/5 - This finishes my son's RC rainbow other than the Super.

Couple 2019 Tatis cards and only one lonely '90s insert for me today
