Not sure how well this could work, but have you considered buying certified cards and cutting them or removing a sticker and inserting it into a custom? I have, although never investigated beyond the initial thought. I have a lot of 3x5s and certified cards that could become donors for my needs, but not willing to do anything until I know I can execute something decent looking.

Keep following the thread! I have some items coming up that you may be interested in.

Grant Jackson was a good TTM signer up until his passing in 2021. He signed one of these for me, probably in 2014 or 2015, but I don't have a record of which one, nor do I know where I got the other one. There are examples of both styles on eBay, with the stacked version a little more common.

This dual auto is filed under Jeter in my collection. He is a tough signature. The facsimile auto on his 1971 Topps card is in cursive, but I have seen many more signed cards with this printed auto. This was a purchase from writer Nick Diunte, via SCN.

This cut autograph custom was created by Jason Samuels, aka @CardArtConnect on Twitter. The auto is from a loose-leaf autograph book, picked up on eBay, that was at one time the property of a Charleston Charlies fan who gathered 66 signatures from 1974 to 1976. Jimenez never had a major league card; this is all created by Jason, including the card back.

I'm very happy with it. It is standard card size, fits in a thicker toploader, constructed of layers like any relic card. If you check Jason's Twitter, you'll find others he follows who do similar work on commission. I've also had success with Millburg Trading Cards. @mouschi also does customs, of course - check his posts or website for his amazing-looking relic cards.

Looooooosiana!
I'm going to do two test cards with him to see how they work out. If it does, you just helped me figure out a long-term conundrum.

Please tell Jason I recommended him. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.

It's been a while so let's catch up a little bit with three Jones pitchers:

PXL_20230324_123434372.jpg

Odell Jones bounced around between the Pirates, Mariners, Rangers, Orioles, and Brewers over a nine-year career. This card came from The Sports Page on eBay in 2019.

Rick Jones pitched with the Red Sox and Mariners and came to Pittsburgh in the trade that sent Odell Jones to Seattle. He was called up to the Pirates in September 1979 but did not pitch in a game. He signed this TTM in 2018.

Tim Jones is the only player in MLB history to have pitched at least 10 innings without allowing a run (Wikipedia), which he did across three appearances for the Pirates in 1978. This card came from Brian Fredrich at ABC Unlimited.
