I prefer when sellers use painter's tape to seal the top of the toploaders because as mentioned, it typically doesn't leave the residue that scotch and other tape does. I've had cards mailed to me before in toploaders that weren't sealed at all at the top and the card arrived damaged. So no, I...
I understand but what I'm saying is that most autographed cards that come out of packs either have a hologram that reads "certified autographed issue" or "Congratulations, you have received a certified autographed card...." so they don't really need to be authenticated by a third party. The...
I recently purchased a card worth close to $400 and was surprised to hear that it needed to be sent away to get authenticated first even though the back of the card shows that it is an authentic autograph. I understand why they want cards worth $300 or more authenticated but not sure why cards...
I sell fairly often on eBay and I mainly buy and sell baseball, basketball and football cards. I've been checking the sold listing prices for those sports recently and can't say that I'm pleased as prices in general seem to be way down across the board with the exception of with the top players...
You should have used "elephant in the room" instead of gorilla because someone might think you're the second coming of Joe Rogan and accuse you of racism. lol.
Larger orders like that generally take longer with them but if you order a single card from the site or buy a single card from their eBay seller, it shouldn't take more than a week to arrive now.
To anyone who has purchased Topps Gallery baseball blasters, mega boxes, hobby boxes etc this year, what are your thoughts on the product in general? I picked up a couple of the mega boxes not too long ago at a Wal-Mart because each mega box contains 2 auto's but the auto's I pulled were pretty...
I still pick up game-used cards of stars and hall of famers like Griffey Jr. etc here and there but overall, I tend to steer clear of game-used unless it's of older, 70's and before era players because they don't tend to hold their value too well unless it's an autographed game-used card.
That's a good, thorough response. I still kick myself for not picking up more highly graded vintage cards before the pandemic hit and the prices spiked. I was able to pick up some but I passed on a lot more, some that increased tenfold in some cases. I've noticed that the prices of retail...
I know that in general, it depends on the player when deciding whether to buy or sell cards but overall, do people here think that the hobby is on a downturn/crash or do you think sales will rebound to similar to what they were at the peak of the covid pandemic? Personally, I think that now is...
I haven't ordered any cards from COMC since late last year. The wait time is just too long now. I used to find some of my best deals on there but now I'm just mainly sticking to eBay. It's a shame that they just can't seem to get their act together anymore in terms of reducing the shipping...
Just wondering if anyone here has purchased any cards from Check Out My Cards on eBay recently and if so, how long did it take you to receive the card(s)? I have my eye on a couple of cards but don't want to buy if they'll take months to get to me.
eBay does really suck now but what other alternative really is there that reaches so many people around the world? Check Out My Cards is the next best option but their shipping speed is slow as molasses now. Sellers especially have no choice but to deal with it.
I agree with you about the monthly fees. Not being hit with seller fees at the end of the month is a bit better and I do prefer to have them take out the fees right away.
I'm a fantasy football fanatic and I'm in 6 money leagues this year. I find it to be a fun diversion though it can be a bit stressful at times when a lot of money is on the line.
I took a break from eBay for about 6 months or so and recently started selling again. I just sold an item and it says: "The order is complete and we've made the funds available for payout." I had heard it was taking as long as 5 business days for the money to clear a seller's bank account...
