Today's mail: The Keith Hernandez is Beckett certified. And it's always a good day when you get a Red Label. Also always a good day when you get a Heritage Chrome Black Refractor. The Luzardo is the top card in the Postseason Topps Now team set. I was disappointed with the player...

Just a couple of '00s parallel needs today.

Today's mail: Nowadays color autos of anybody above the common level usually sell for more than I feel like paying, but the injury-prone AJ Puk isn't exactly on fire right now. The McGwire finishes off my 1996 Leaf Silver Press Proof A's needs. Still need pretty much all the Golds, though...

Today's mail: Love the '95 Select Artist's Proofs, I believe the McGwire finishes off the team set for me. The Dilfer is kind of a long story. Like in baseball, the 1999 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractors were all numbered/25. Suspiciously, I had never seen one up until a few years ago, when a...

UNNUMBERD CARDS THAT ARE A MOFO TO FIND

I concur with this choice. I collect Todd Van Poppel (pause for laughter) and of 200 cards listed by Beckett, that is the single one I don't have. I believe they exist, but I've never seen one. *notices that Beckett added 1993 Topps Porcelain to the list earlier this year* Ah poop, TWO cards.

Ah Matt Holliday. After playing with the A's for half of 2009, every subsequent contract he signed had a no-trade clause with a single team on it: the A's. Not a big Billy Beane fan. The Gold Star cards are the team set, and the Cespedes is the Century Silver version 16/25. He has three...

Lots in the mail today: That was the last of the 3 1998 Longevity Ben Grieve cards I needed, still missing several other A's for the team set. The 1996 Stadium Club Extreme Silver McGwire does complete my A's needs from that set, though. Just missing a Gold McGwire for the full EXTREEEEME...

Picked up a 2020 Topps hobby set today and opened the exclusive foil card pack: WOOF. At least I got an A's card for my collection. These also came in the mail: Both were on my large 2020 top priorities list so I'm glad to get them.

Nice surprise from Topps today, my Turn Back the Clock Rickey Henderson ended up being a red parallel 7/7!

    October - New Arrivals Thread

Got back from vacation a week ago and finally worked up the energy to scan my favorite cards that arrived while I was gone. First the stuff directly from Topps: Interesting that they've started to use a different size one-touch for the Project 2020 cards. When did they start randomly...

    September pick ups/pulls

Last mail day for a couple of weeks, going on vacation.

    September pick ups/pulls

True, if I were way into the MLB Showdown cards it'd be nothing to pay $30 for it. But as a team collector it's just one of hundreds of instances where it's the last one I need for a particular set, or run of sets, or the last card I need of a particular player. I'll see if it ever pops up for...

    1997 Topps Stars All-Stars: WTF?

I'm infinitely more interested in seeing a $1 card that a collector is excited to get than a $1,000 gem mint chrome refractor prospect auto investment some BIG BALLER picked up. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Good thing you can actually see a few cards in one of the packs, or else I'd say worst case is you'll get a box and a bunch of empty wrappers. Interesting gamble! 9/24: Real happy to pick up the '98 Longevity Chavez. The Rich Harden/5 was an auction steal for 99 cents, I'll buy all the...

    Obscure player collections?

Cool! I have bought some cards of players with names close to mine but haven't actually leapt into collecting them.

    September pick ups/pulls

9/23: Fleer's Sweet Spot ripoff didn't really have the oomph of the original. The Ginters are complete base (w/inserts) and mini team sets. Jonah Heim made his MLB debut with the A's this season and is the current backup catcher.

    Obscure player collections?

My five most collected baseball players are Todd Van Poppel, Alex Cole, Bobby Jones (the Mets/Padres one), Tom Goodwin, and Xavier Nady...those aren't exactly the most popular players but I wouldn't consider them "obscure" because they all had somewhat lengthy careers in the majors. Well also...

    September pick ups/pulls

Wow nice one! I like this year's A&G design. Barry Zito and Tony LaRussa are in the set so I'm going to have to hunt down a lot of those parallels plus a Zito auto. One card today, surprising because they don't usually deliver any cards on junk mail day.

Is there a 2020 way of seeing a best offer/sold for listing?
