Here is a pic of me holding a Game-used Babe Ruth bat at the National.
Then a pic from the Cardinals game. It is a very nice ballpark.
And this is my wife. It had been raining so I bought her a poncho. Too bad it was a Cardinals one. ;)
I just made it home and have scanned everything. See the posts above.
Another cool thing about our trip was how we were able to go to 3 baseball games. We went to the DBacks @ Reds on Tuesday, the Mariners @ Indians on Thursday and the Brewers @ Cardinals on Friday.
We also visited the...
Why couldn't you just use it?
Go up to the gate and say, "I would like to get in. I have this pass. "
They would say, "Are you Mr. Maldonado?"
To which you would reply, "No, I am the 'And one'." 😄
It could work.
Very cool item BTW
Ok. So day 2 is over and amazingly enough I got through the last day of my time here without spending every dollar in my wallet. Not that there isn't abundant opportunity to do so. Let me share my day today...
Got into the show and got in a little early thanks to a buddy of mine working the...
I wanted to give a recap of my experience at the National. I apologize in advance if it is boring and/or long.
The last National I attended was in 1990 in Arlington, Texas. I was a sophomore in high school and I was trying to buy as many Darryl Strawberry cards as I could. Oh how things have...
You should look at having your scans on Sports Card Album. You can make albums for each year and your scans are yours. Also, you should check out Zistle. You can upload your scans to the crowdsourced database and really have a cool place to track your collection. Just some thoughts.
So I was thinking today how many steps I go through each time I receive a card. It is crazy, but the only way I know to keep good track of what I have.
For example, today I got this card...
Here is my process:
1) Scan the card
2) Add it to my custom spreadsheet that currently has 23...
Consider yourself lucky being a Belle collector.
Through 2013, there are 1,170 Josh Hamilton 1/1s including plates. I have 101 of Hamilton alone. I know another Hamilton collector who has around 250 Hamilton 1/1s!!
I got number 188 today in the mail. They are spread out among my PC players. Hamilton, Michael Young, and Ivan Rodriguez as well as some random Rangers.
As we near a month to go I am wanting to see who else is excited about the National!!
This will be my first one since 1990 and I would love to meet some of my FCB brethren at the show. I will be there Wednesday for the preview day and Thursday.
Who all is going?? I would love some good...
I would love to buy more cards here, but here are my issues...
- Terrible descriptions!! I do not want to look at every "Look at this steal!!" thread. Tell me what card you are selling in the description.
- NO LISTS! NO PICS! NO PRICES! I won't even bother.
- I am not a prospector. I...
I'm going to try and address lots of comments in one response...
Thanks for the compliments. I really like the Rickey letter as I also think cool mediums like that are fantastic. As far as the Baker cut, I just wanted to get one of him that was slabbed.
Yes, they are my first examples of...
Love of the Game auctions ended last night and I won a couple of items that I really liked. I was wanting to get opinions from the knowledgeable FCB HOFer crew as to how I did on price.
1st item: PSA/DNA Slabbed Frank "Home Run" Baker Cut Auto - Paid $300 w/ BP
2nd item: 1949 Branch...
