Honestly - the way you protect yourself here is to buy insurance for all cards over $100 - then at least if the card showed up, you wouldn't be out the money.
i used to put slabs into bubble bags and then into a single bubble mailer, but changed when I started having slabs getting damaged in transit. Besides putting cardboard into every single mailer, there isn't really a foolproof way to ship slabs for 100% safety.
Here are my results - this is from 6.5 cases of jumbo and 5 cases of hobby. Please PM me if you are interested in anything - Conforto, JD Davis, Brett Phillips, Bobby Bradley, Gleybar Torres, Casey Gillapsie, and Willy Adames are not available. Thanks...
I disagree with that. If Amazon ships me a package via UPS, and it's lost or destroyed by UPS, then Amazon will send me a new package. In all business law cases, it's always the seller's responsibility to get the item to the buyer safely.
This is why I pay for insurance for all packages over $100 - if this situation happens, at least I wouldn't be out the $210. Besides that though, the buyer is a jerk.
I understand how you feel - I've gotten a few slabs where they were just sent in a bubble envelope and surprisingly survived the trip. I always use two padded envelopes and not two graded card sleeves.
My thread was mostly for the lack of proper etiquette of the buyer, but at least now it's...
I put the slab into a 000 padded envelope, and then that envelope into a 00 padded envelope. That generally does the trick, since this is the only cracked slab that I've had in over 2 years, since I've changed to this method.
Update on the transaction - I asked for a picture of the damage, and...
lol, Jimmy - don't start the trash talking - how do 3 world series rings taste in the last 5 years, LA?
no one expected the Giants to do anything this year, and I still have a little bit of hope, but the injuries to their key players - Pence, Panik, and Aoki off and on this year have really...
His last response -
Like I said, let's do a partial refund and I can keep the card and just have someone submit it for a re slab or something. Let me know what you can send me.
My response - please send a pic of the damage.
I just feel like he's trying to scam me.
I haven't posted one of these in a while, but for your entertainment value:
from the buyer - Got the card and the slab case was busted and cracked! Please Lmk what you plan on doing
my response - please send the card back to (my address) and I will refund you in full upon receipt.
