Does anyone have a Topps Chrome Early Road to the Hall refractor available for trade or sale? It's one of the last Chrome refractors I need to finish my set - willing to trade in your favor or pay respectable price. Would mean a lot for my PC.

I'm still scared to get my last one graded... I'd love all PSA 10's w/o the peel. It looks really good so we'll see.

From my understanding all the REFRACTORS are legit - it's only the non refractors that were backdoored. Got mine graded just in case though :)

    Griffey Collector's Thread

Welcome! This is by far my favorite Griffey community out there and it's always nice to see new posters. It's been tough for me over the years to narrow my favorites down to just one - I have five that I would place evenly on my all time personal favorite PC list but the first one that came to...

^ Love that Perfect 10... and who isn't looking for that Ovation /10? haha. What a set, probably my favorite autograph variation as well. Nice card, white area for autograph, and I think it's a 1989-1999 10 year Upper Deck commemorative Griffey card.

That doesn't make sense though, both being from 2000 UD? As one has 1999 on the back and one has 2000 - unless there was a huge delay in series releases? I think GameJerseyPR answered it the best that the one with the bird is 2000 and the other is 2001 and the cards are dated a year prior to...

Way off subject but could someone please explain to me the variations of the 2000 Upper Deck Patch cards? Not Griffey but using Ripken for reference - each card has the exact same number on the back but one has 1999 and the other 2000 I wasn't aware that 1999 UD had these patches? If so, what...

I will admit that the mirror golds are not my specialty - I've relied on others to provide information with these so I'm very curious as to what this board knows. We'll also have to factor in that there are still a lot of Griffey collectors that are out there who do not even go on these types of...

Agreed. I'd like to know the production numbers for boxes of the EX. Knowing the Cut Above inserts are 1:288 we could then figure out roughly how many Griffey's were placed in those packs. Being one of the highest end out there at the time but still obtainable at any local card shop for 5+ a...

As others have said a card is worth what someone will pay for it (to them any ways) I'd estimate that the value of that card is somewhere between 150-225 Its 1:288 and I'm pretty sure there are quite a few of them out there. My personal advice for anyone who has Griffey cards that they...

^ That was crystal clear, thank you. Do you believe there is a possibility that some were not aware how "tough" the Ultra GM were? And perhaps they just got overlooked in collections because they were not numbered?

@tidel144 Well said, thank you for the input. In regards to that Ultra Gold Med hitting machines insert - I still believe that is the rarest Griffey Insert (per pack pull ration) in existence. I brought it up a few pages back but I believe it's 1:2880 Here's a little article about it. Not...

I don't think that a lot of people actually knew how rare those GM were, most Ultra GM are 1:100+ Those hitting machines on the other hand are insanely rare and perhaps since they don't look a whole lot different maybe people were skeptical? Who knows. Just guessing here :)

Another one came today in the mail. Anyone know why these are so cheap to pick up? They are 1 in almost 3,000 packs. Not always a huge fan of slabbed but for parallels that look pretty similar to their other variations 9 or above I can live with.
