Correct. I don't like the product only because I know secondary sales pretty well. Ive been off items but more time than not im in the range. The SK stuff does not do well in the secondary market.
The Ruth is a 4-5k card. The Thorpe is 1500 maybe a little more and the Beatles could go mega high. That's really the big chase card I have seen. Although the Ruth would be a nice consolation.
Of course I'm just clowning around as you can never have too many Ruth patches :)
I agree that if they are gonna use patches they should just use patches but remember that early on all these companies never labeled cards correctly thus if it said jersey it could have had a patch or prime piece...
That's a good rule and plus you don't need anymore damn Ruth patches ;)
What Piece do you think was in there? The only reason I ask is because the Ruth Airholes or Button Holes sell as well as Ruth Patches. A couple of recorded sales I have of Air Holes/Button are 2200 and 2750. So to me there...
Keep in mind that they Went all out with Ruth Patches in the 2001 Leaf Certified set and even a couple of those has sliver patches. They only had so much Patch. Here is the 2/5 Ruth
I was able to opened up the picture a bit and the patch has the same stitching and same material as the 3/5...
By the way I have been out of town for work while these auctions were up and could not do the research before hand or else I would have posted my findings earlier.
I am now 99.9 % sure the Ruth is the real deal. I have been doing a ton of research. I admit that I really was unfamiliar on how the set was layed out. As said in that Bobby doerr question thread -...
Here is my take on why it will never come close to #1 21 century auto let alone be in the same sentence as Pujols Bowman chrome. Just stats alone, Miguel will never be as good as Pujols was ever, keep in mind miggys 2 best seasons (2011 & 2013) are Pujols 7th and 8th best seasons! That tells ya...
They were sewn as mine has stitching, very faint but there. Also found a couple more from 2001 certified that had stitching, not all of them did but some. I would post pics but I'm on mobile device and pita to post anything, lol.
Lost in all this it Keith's awsome bat knob auto, lol. Great pick up man! We should start a new topic just for Knobs and barrels :)
Now back to patches.
The card itself for sure Alex but because the seller has or is selling questionable cards makes the case for the current Ruth to be altered. I would like to see ( as we all would) another gold version of this card. The card that is up now is gold foil it's just that the picture isn't very clear...
And if anyone is familiar with 2001, 2002 and 2003 leaf certifed they will know these cards can be split in half and put back together without it looking odd as they were not well put together to begin with.
