Did the seller agree to your request beforehand? Could be that the guy simply didn't have time to make a trip to the post-office or to the bank except for when he did.
Handling a payment outside of Ebay/Paypal just seems unnecessarily risky. If everything goes sour, it seems like it'd be a...
The first time I ever spent over $5 for a single card was on 2/10/1990 when I saved up my lunch money for a few weeks and bought a 1987 Fleer Will Clark for $35.
Yeah, I kept fairly detailed records for a 14 year old.
12 years later, the first PSA 10 I ever owned was a 1987 Fleer Glossy Will...
When you combine all of his hits from any level of professional baseball, Franco's 8th all-time with 4024 hits.
Interesting list:
Pete Rose: 4769
Ty Cobb: 4379
Hank Aaron: 4245
Jigger Statz: 4093 (racked up over 3k minor league hits!)
Minnie Minoso: 4073
Derek Jeter: 4065
Ichiro Suzuki: 4034...
Lincecum had 2 different cards in the 2007 Bowman Chrome set, a MLB RC and an auto'ed prospect.
They also included him in the Draft set for some reason.
Belt was getting hot again too. Ugh. It's going to be tough to replace his bat in the lineup.
After the game they asked Bum what he said to Puig during that whole thing and he said, with a straight face "I was just congratulating him. It was a really good swing." Then they asked him what...
Couple of other low-number additions:
2007 Bowman Chrome Orange Auto Manny Burriss, #/25
2009 Elite Status Auto Matt Graham, #/50
Graham was drafted by the Giants and played minor league ball for 3 years, but it appears that he left the game after the 2012 season.
Earlier this month, I was pretty excited to add a group of fairly difficult-to-locate rookie cards, all #/10:
2004 SP Prospects Gold #/10: Kevin Frandsen, Clay Timpner, Will Thompson
Frandsen and Timpner actually played for the Giants. Thompson never made it.
And, these #/25 beauties...
Updated: I'm re-purposing this thread to be a general SF Giants fan and collecting discussion and showoff thread.
I've been a die-hard Giants fan since I first got into baseball in 1989. For the past few years I've been collecting SF Giants related cards exclusively. Mostly just...
That was the first (modern) time Marvel tried to turn a comic into a movie. The next was a horrible "Punisher" movie where Dolph Lundgren looked perpetually stoned.
I've used PSA's buy-back program on 3 cards and got satisfaction. One was a PSA 10 with a ding on the back. The seller (PSA-SET-GUY, is he even still around) refused to give me a refund and then he won the Ebay case I opened against him.
I sent the card back to PSA (free review) and they...
I like BGS's sleeves. They offer better protection than PSA's holder.
That card bouncing around inside the PSA slab means that there's friction going on between the surface of the card and the inside of the slab. For chrome cards, that can be disastrous.
PSA doesn't actually use a "sleeve" like BGS. They lay a single sheet of thin mylar on top of the card (or under it, I don't remember) and then slab it (so one side of the card is in contact with the mylar, the other is in contact with the plastic of the slab). They use this when they slab...
Sorry to break it to you, but the story doesn't end. It keeps going and going.
You DO need to closely examine the scans AND you need to ask for more pictures. Not all PSA 10s are equal. Some are more PSA10ish than others, some are less.
Does that sound absurd? Maybe it does, but it's the...
