Now Adrianza goes down with a concussion. What's up with all the head injuries this year?
Giants call up Kevin Frandsen, who was a broken prospect from years ago. Giants are having to dig pretty deep just to field a healthy team.
Ugh. Chalk this up to the "Curse of the Odd Number Year".
"Best" lineup from 2015, with their present status:
1) Aoki = out with concussion
2) Panik = out with back injury
3) Duffy
4) Posey
5) Pence = out with oblique injury
6) Belt = out with concussion
7) Crawford = day-to-day with oblique...
I was at the game! I make it out to one game a year, and this was by far the best I've been too.
Giants offence took out the "will they score enough runs?" drama out of the equation early, and everyone got to focus on MadBum doing his thing.
From where I was sitting, it looked like Adrianza...
Yeah, the staff hurt the team too, but the offence performed at a level in the first half that hid that fact. Once the offence got dinged up with injuries, there was no hiding the bad pitching.
Bum's solid. Leake's good. I like Heston, even though he's running out of gas (rookie gas tank)...
Maybe Duffy's cards will be affordable after all, with his production declining and the Giants falling out of contention.
He's not going to win the ROY. That's easy to see right now.
Just picked up this 2015 Topps Chrome Gold Refractor #/50 auto rookie of Hunter Strickland. This will replace the 2015 Topps Silver Frame #/20 (that I picked up just a few months ago :/) in my Giants active/alumni rookie collection.
I was thinking in more general terms, like "Rookie starting at 2nd base and hitting second in the lineup for the WS winning Giants."
edit to add:
Oh, you were talking about Duff. Ironically, Panik was at bat. :)
Yeah. The price point on Panik's 2011 Chrome Gold Auto might be a good comp for what to expect.
Then again, Panik had an October stage to get his name out there. Duffy doesn't have that yet (though he does have his cat....).
SF's Matt Duffy is still coming up empty for his first card.
Hopefully Topps Update and/or Bowman Draft corrects this. Dude's having too good of a season to be without cardboard.
A few adds...
Wellemeyer was a forgettable Giant. He started the 2010 season in the rotation, and kept the 5th spot warm for MadBum, who was called up mid-season when Wellemeyer got hurt.
I guess we'll see where Kelby ends up. A fun card here. It was never released in packs, but was...
Not only has Matt Duffy kept Giants fans from missing the Panda, he's gonna get the "ROY" chants going at AT&T park pretty soon.
I'm a little annoyed that they didn't come out with his card earlier. Whatever low-number auto rookie card of his they come out with in a month or two is gonna cost...

I attended a RiverCats game recently when the Fresno Grizzlies were in town. The "other" Matt Duffy was in the lineup for the Grizzlies. Ironic, since the Giants Matt Duffy skipped AAA ball, which would have...
I haven't had much time to post, but I have picked up a few pieces for my SF Giants rookie card collection...
Not sure which of these to use for my main collection though... so I got both. :)
