Tim Hudson: "Obviously they have a talented group over there, there’s no question. They have some great pitching. But come playoff time, talent can take you a long ways, but what do you have between your legs? That’s going to take you real far. And I think we've got a group in here that really...
LOL, they didn't end up needing any other pitchers.
What a way to start the playoffs. I figured the Giants needed a huge game out of MadBum to get the momentum going, and they got it.
Here's the roster for the win-or-die game tonight...

Pitchers (10): Jeremy Affeldt, Madison Bumgarner (starting), Santiago Casilla, Tim Lincecum, Javier Lopez, Jean Machi, Jake Peavy, Yusmieor Petit, Sergio Romo, Hunter Strickland.
Catchers (3): Buster Posey, Andrew Susac, Guillermo...
I've read that Ishikawa will be playing left field for the Wild Card game.
Here's a guess at our lineup (with career numbers vs Volquez):
1) Blanco (CF) (22 pa, .263/.364/.263)
2) Panik (2b) (0 pa)
3) Posey (C) (12 pa, .556/.583/.778)
4) Panda (3b) (13 pa, .462/.462/.692)
5) Pence (RF) (41 pa...
Pence got the team fired up during their WC celebration.

Giants will face either the Cards or the Bucks in the Wild Card game. Both teams blew up Bumgarner last time they faced him.
Edit to add:
Nationals clinched the...
Dodger magic number to clinch the division is 3, so they just need to win 2 out of 3 at home vs the quickly fading Giants to, as one of the Giants beat writers put it, dance on the Giants heads.
It's going to take one of those wild miracles for the Giants to make any sort of dent in October, if...
I'm excited. :D
I don't really care about how much they win. I just like the idea of going to a local baseball game and seeing players who I actually care about seeing. That, plus a lot more local newspaper coverage of Giants farmhands.
Of course, the one downside of going to Rivercats...
I wouldn't be shocked if a raw one went for >$1200. BGS 9.5 maybe around >$1300.
I seem to recall a raw one going for around $900 earlier this season. He's riding a hot-streak right now though. If the Giants fall out of contention or make an early exit in the post-season, I think the card...
Nice Posey.
I'm sill kicking myself for passing up a $600 2008 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Posey back in late 2011. But heck, who knew he'd come back from that ankle injury to win an MVP the next year?
Hunter Pence got an RBI base hit out of this, although technically he wasn't really touching the bat when it hit the ball. LOL. Giants seem to have that weird luck factor back. It'll be interesting to see if it helps this weekend.
LOL. I've had a long time to develop my skepticism of hot starts.
Joe Panik looks like he's the first decent home-grown 2nd baseman since Robby Thompson.
Since I posted that on August 21, here's what Panik has done:
August 22 to present: .386/.419/.500.
Crazy. It'd be awesome if he keeps it up through the rest of the year.
Wow. I figured the Brewers were gonna pound the Giants. Instead the Giants stomped the Brewers 13-2, 3-1, and 15-5.
Up next:
4 @ Rockies
3 @ Tigers
3 v D-Backs
3 v Dodgers

Giants are riding into September on a 6 game win-streak, the WC lead and...
No spares, sorry. I bought 1 set on Ebay the other day. It was missing card #7 , unfortunately. The pitchers are listed in alphabetical order and are in front of the set. Card #7 is between Hudson and Lincecum, so the missing card is either David Huff or George Kontos. I'm not sure when...
