Very well may end up being my biggest pickup this year - only dropped the $ on it since i had some tax return money leftover. But I really wanted it when I saw the set, so happy to grab it!
A few more pickups this month
2017's version of the bash bros - I'll never forget their brief time together.
And another Red Ink from Archie's pre-beard days.
And a card I was sad I missed out on about 6 months ago. Happy to see it popped up again.
Cool stuff guys, I love reading the updates to this thread! I hope to have the Brandon Webb collection join one day, butcher's just not much out there anymore. I'm probably 275 short or so of 1,500.
Good news from Steve Gilbert at least: "#Dbacks not necessarily done looking for outfield help. Were going to sign Dyson regardless of what happened with J.D. Martinez."
Not that I don't like Dyson as a 4th outfielder, but would like a little more oomph in the lineup to cover for Jake Lamb's...
I've been quietly lurking as always! All good here, just working to pay down that student debt, so wanted to take it easy. Looking to come roaring back this year though! Have a couple nice things coming in the next week! Still buying Goldy's here and there?
Despite the awesome season, was pretty quiet on the pickups last year (think I picked up 4 or 5 cards between July and December, which is insanely low for me). Lots going on, so I kind of took a step back. Trying to get back into it this year a bit. This came in a couple weeks ago, one of the...
Really hoping this isn't just a good run and he's finally put things together. He always had the stuff, so I don't think it's a fluke.
Hope he gets some more cards in the future, but I did pick this up last year!
Yep, I mean it's Upper Deck seats, but you can also upgrade starting at $10 if you feel like sitting somewhere else during one of the games. $2 a game, and the fact that I work down the street from the ballpark, it seemed like a no-brainer. I ended up splitting with a friend and we got 3...
Also an OG member - 8/7/2008 - and a fellow escapee of the BMB regime. I'm not as active as I used to be (turns out, you have a lot more time when you're younger, who would have thought!), but still actively involved in the hobby.
Still come on at least once a day though, but definitely more of...
I've never thought how odd it was, but do him and Schilling have any dual autos, on-card or otherwise? I can't think of one off of the top go my head. They are on the Incredible Ink Quad autograph from 2003 Donruss Signature, so I guess that kind of counts since they're on the same side.
Definitely still shocked...I know we'll regress, but it'd be nice to stay competitive at least a while this year...being 100% out by the All-Star break is never fun.
Loved 2004 Topps Chrome! I once entertained putting together a master set of the Red X-Fractors...but abandoned that pretty quickly. Still think I have a handful somewhere.
I had just assumed all players had 3 versions - to be fair I've only looked into Goldschmidt and Luis Gonzalez, but Beckett lists both of them as having the Black Rainbow, Black Galactic and the Braid pattern Black Galactic.
Lots of stuff I liked this year, since I switched just to just caring about quality rather than quantity a couple of years ago.
These two were some of the biggest - it's hard to find any more Brandon Webb cards (not exactly a market there these days), but was able to pick up these two 1/1's...
Won't be happy until TLR is following them on the way out.
Well, in a perfect world, I wouldn't be happy until Ken Kendrick was also on the way out, but I know he ain't going anywhere, so I'll settle for La Russa leaving.
