Imagine my excitement when I saw that A.J. Pollock had an autograph in a Topps product for the first time since his Bowman days. Then imagine how I felt when I saw the ugly POS

But...
Fairly solid game from Miller...hopefully he's still getting into form, definitely expect less base runners out of him.
I tend to be a worrier, but this Pollock elbow soreness is really starting to concern me now. Glad the MRI came back clean, but the fact that it's lingering this long is scary.
That Obak is awesome, I actually really liked that set when it came out, but never bought anything from it.
One of my favorite parallel sets of the year is the acetates in the base Topps set. Got this bad boy in while I was on vacation, to go along with he 2015 version - still haven't seen a 2014.
Oh yeah, I'm not unhappy with the price, I'd actually pay more, but it was definitely an "overpay" compared to others. But it isn't the first and won't be the last time I overpay!
I had no idea Goldy's were that high. Damn, I think I paid about $60 for mine. Really wish I had gotten a Blue...
Ted Williams record, here comes Jean Segura!
Sorry, got distracted by the Game of Thrones trailer. Can't wait to see what you get out of Heritage, it looks like a really fun break this year!
Yeah, definitely would agree with that. I just don't see him making the roster as a 4th OF, I'm guessing Socrates Brito has that spot lined up.
PS, I'm officially 1-3 in my Heritage Superfractor quest as of last evening's mail day!
Oh yeah, not big on Owings at all. I do still like Lamb though, I think he has potential. I don't see much roster space for O'Brien, but who knows. I certainly don't see him having much of a future with the D-backs, so it'd be nice to get something good for him.
Not sure what Owings is batting, but looks like Ahmed and Segura have the early lead on Owings for the 2 middle infield spots. Hell, even Weeks is ahead of him.
I love that they put this in retail as well - obviously it didn't happen in this case, but imagine if a kid pulled that in a retail pack - once in a lifetime.
And I love the Superfractors in Heritage this year, a really nice surprise. I want all the D-backs!
awesome read, I knew most of his pitcher to hitter transition story, but didn't know about the McDonald's angle.
Peralta is one of my other main collections, but unfortunately, not much out there to collect at this point. Hopefully he'll get a few more cards this year with all his success!
Nothing new in lately, and probably won't be until next week, so figured I'd post some more pickups from the last couple months.

I think you're right, the BC super (non-auto at least) was sitting up on eBay for about a year. It started somewhere in the $2,000 range and I think ended up going as high as $3,500 or $4,000. It just seemed like the seller was displaying more than actually interested in selling it, but I...
I remember when those first editions hit, I was on vacation or something and missed out on the Goldschmidts. Definitely hope mother set or two get broken some time!
We do already have a D-backs collectors thread, but I figured Goldy deserved his own thread and I felt like it was time to start posting some of the PC. Everyone feel free to share your Goldy's and/or just talk about the 2016 MVP :D
My buying is really slowing down here lately, but I got a...
Hmm, the Superfractor could turn out pretty nice this year - I'm a big fan of the 2016 base design, though I know others aren't. Hoping they turn out a little better than 2015 at least, didn't find that they popped very much last year.
Yeah, I love the Acetates, that may be my favorite Pollock. I tried putting together the 2015 D-backs set and got pretty far, but 2016 has been a bust - I've only seen 3 players so far (Bracho, Godley and Lamb). Nothing from the rest of the team.
