I missed last year for the first time and really regretted it, so was really looking forward to making it back. Unfortunately a very good friend is having an event that morning/afternoon that I can't really miss, so looks like I'm out :( I mostly go for the yard sale, I like buying the cheap GU...
Looks about right to me. A lot of "ifs" in that lineup, seeing it written down is a little bit scary. Hoping for a breakout year for Lamb and some kind of progress from Tomas, and then I think we'll be in good shape with a healthy rotation.
Accidentally bought a few of the 1999 before I realized they weren't serial numbered - got too excited and didn't read the description, wouldn't have bought them otherwise, so there's $25 down the drain :(
I would buy the 2000s, though, since they weren't serial numbered anyway. Unfortunately I...
I can't wait to see how he follows up last season. He really cooled off post-ASG into August, hoping he can maintain the awesomeness all year. I really need to start a Goldy PC thread.
Dude, soooooo happy to see you finally get this card. An incredible centerpiece to any collection, but there's no place it should be but in your PC. Congrats!
I'm trying to get (at least) one Superfractor of every D-backs player, so Randy is obviously the highest priority on my list that I...
I don't have any specific goals this upcoming year. I feel like I have a lot more than I ever imagined I would and I'm pretty happy with my collection at the moment. Still looking for D-backs that catch my eye, of course, but I plan to slow down and only buy things that really, really appeal to...
Haha, that's sweet! I made a killing off the X-Fractor/10 version of this Nelson card - bought it for like $10 BIN near the end of 2004, sold it for $200 or $300, can't remember.
I've noticed a problem with autograph quality throughout the year. I suppose it doesn't apply to this release as much since there are so many different types of card surfaces in this set, but many of the Luis Gonzalez autographs in 2015 have been faded. It looks like he signed a big chunk of...
Not to hijack, but I've heard the same - unnumbered are backdoored, which I've seen plenty of over the years. Serial numbered are the authentic ones. I bought this one shortly after release in 2004, I have never seen another player since. No scan of the back, but it is serial numbered.
Merry Christmas all! Almost forgot yesterday that it was Christmas Eve - was visiting with some friends at a coffee shop and it was nearly 70 and the sun was beating down on me yesterday. Not exactly Christmas, but at least it's down to 60 today!
I've been enjoying this set - quite a few cards I've wanted - including the first autographs of a couple ex-Diamondbacks, which is always cool. But it definitely is a bit gimmicky, technically they are all cards I could just get signed in person. I can't imagine how it is for some of you with...
Still breaks my heart that you ending up selling those, especially the '03s. My favorite set of all time. Very understandable that you did, but dang, still miss seeing your great pickups. If it helps, I picked up the slack and went after all his D-backs stuff. Not that there was a lot made, but...
For me, it's just been shifting priorities. When I was really active on here (or Beckett before we migrated here) and SCF, it was probably from the ages of 13-18. Obviously, I was young and had little responsibility and more time. But at 26, it's not really the case anymore. I do come on here a...
I've always wondered about this part. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see how you can even go about finding other collectors on Twitter. I've stumbled across some on accident, but Twitter is so limiting. I guess FB might be better for collectors.
I love Panini - so many cards of players I collect that don't get made anymore (specifically thinking Steve Finley, but other players as well). Almost done completing this rainbow (I think I only need a Red/10) - double whammy for the Panini haters - no logos and not even a product technically...
