Lots of variables. What kind of collection (mainly inserts? Lots of game used? A ton of base? Etc)
Also, when I buy collections, I work under the expectation that I can sell enough from the collection within 60 days to pay for the entire collection.

Latrell sprewell / PJ Carlisemo
Ron Artest/ Ben Wallace
Bo Jackson / Brian Bosworth
I think it would also be neat to pair athletes and actors that played them in the movies (Michael Oher / Quinton Aaron from Blind Side)

Very nice for set collecting. Each set has it's own tab.
Oh yeah. He has a cult following. Really wish I would have kept all of the stuff I had. Sold it before the 90s insert boom. I got like 200 for the red PMG. Last one I saw sold for almost $700

I used to collect Latrell Sprewell and thought I would do an eBay search recently and found genos in prizm and gold standard. I thought about doing the rainbow but have decided against it. :)

an update for anyone that cares. :^)
I am currently at 1618, which puts me at 48.87% of completion
In the 14 months since I started this thread, I have added 326 cards, or roughly 23 cards per month. :) That's a pretty neat statistic. LOL!
I think I am going to finish all of the Regular sets...
This thank you is long overdue!
A few months ago, I posted some of my favorite Pacific cards over in the football forum.
Ct Sox Fan sent me a PM saying he had a few cards for my collection, including an unbelievable patch cards of Michael Bishop with the "s" from Patriots.
He took nothing in...
I've made one purchase from Burbank (Jon Kitna 2000 Prism patch card /15).
They had it priced at $35 with no photo. I sent them an email and told them that I would purchase it if they put up a scan. Scan was uploaded within a day and card came great.
I can't fault them for their business...
Lots of great discussion here. The "problem" is that this guy fills 24 feet of table with cards only sorted by sport. So a person can sit down at 9 am when the show starts and not leave his tables until 2:30 or 3 when the show ends.
I am guilty of this too and I typically spend $30-40 with him...
Looking for opinions and thoughts…
Show promoter question.
I have a dealer that sets up at my show. Takes 3 tables and sells nothing but quarter cards.
I have been told (by multiple people) that because this guy is here, some dealers will not come to the show because people will come and...
