I'm working on the 1958 Hires Root Beer set (no tabs.) Currently at 19/66 (28.7%.) I chase any card that comes along, avoiding BINs as much as possible. They don't pop up as much as other vintage sets.

Haha, I know. That was a tough choice. I went with the "he was one of my favorites growing up" choice....and some more power. Williams and Winfield back-to-back would be pretty intimidating.
But Cabrera over Collins? Please relinquish any and all Red Sox items now. :)

Tough call. Part of me says the '51 because of the true RC status. However, I think I would go with the '52. When I started collecting as a kid in the 80's, the '52 Mantle was THE card to own.
No graded cards in my vintage or modern collections. I prefer the way they look in binders. Not really a big fan of the TPG industry, either. It takes away the hobby aspect, and the money involved (i.e. graded vs. raw sales) has turned collectors in to investors.
I purchased a lot of cards from Rainout Sportscards from the Beckett Marketplace on Feb. 27. USPS says shipping info was received on the 28th, but there hasn't been any updates stating the cards have actually been shipped. Their store on the marketplace now loads a 404/Page Not Found error. I...
