I bet you yell at your TV when a new advertisement for deodorant comes on too, don't you?
I apologize to my fellow hobby enthusiasts for getting excited for anything new and revolutionary in our hobby. I will attempt to contain my excitement from here on out, in order to appear as if I am not...
In my new version of sportscardslist.com, it allows you to import from Photobucket to the site.
Still working on a few bugs with everything, but it's coming!
You are exactly right.
Except that all of the cards have been produced and are sitting in COMCs warehouse waiting for people to choose to fulfill their orders.
I bought a box last week and hit this:
Had it shipped to me from COMC and got it in four days.
I bought 5 more packs today and hit this:
I got that shipped to me too.
It's actually very brilliant. People are paying others to break cards for them, and then wait weeks delivery. Here, you can open online AND instantly have them in your COMC account available for sale or to grade.
Expect Topps and Panini to follow-suit, real soon.
I don't think some people are grasping this.
Not everyone has the luxury of a LCS in their backyard.
You can physically get most cards shipped directly to you, so they can be in your possession or for you to rub on your body.
Unfortunately, this is the way the hobby is turning, instant...
Correct me if I am wrong, but eTopps was always a digital-only brand. UD ePacks you are able to buy the same packs you could buy at your LCS or Target. Much more appealing.
Easily one of the biggest and game-changing events to happen to the hobby in some time.
Upper Deck has launched their ePack program, allowing you to buy digital packs of cards and have the cards "shipped" to your COMC account to sell.
For right now, they are only offering this with 2015-16 UD...
I think your best option is to have a professional grading service grade the card and then sell it as is. This way, you have a professional judge on the condition of the card and you won't need to worry about potential buyers misunderstanding the condition.
You may have a shot at asking Topps...
Found a great deal on another site for this card, so good in fact, that I was worried that I was not going to receive the card. All fears were relieved when this showed up in my mailbox today:
cgilmo - Point of clarification. The trade for Miller / Swanson occurred before Bowman Draft was released. Those $40 sales you see are very far fetched outliers, selling 2 days before the product released.
