They are definitely listed on the Beckett database, under 1997 Topps Proshooters Marbles. I still need the Larkin, although I do have the cheklist with him on it (the checklists are not in the database though).
Here is the Albert Belle listing:
1997 Topps Marbles #5 Albert Belle
The 94's are the huge money, but the ABCD winners from 93 have some value too. They usually sell anywhere from $15-$60 now. I paid $82 for one about a year and a half ago, but it seems a lot more have come to market since then and it has driven the price down. I once saw a PSA 10 - 93 ABCD...
Probably Because he was terrible all season and they have other solid options. Since he seems to be pitching well out of the pen I could understand leaving him there for now. I can see both sides of the argument on this one.
I'm shocked that his diffractors routinely sell for less than other players diffractors would. I wonder why that is. And why do there seem to be so many of his diffractors listed compared to other players? By the way - thanks again Richard for hooking me up with my first Larkin diffractors -...
This is why I hate spending a huge amount of money on cards like these. You never know how many are actually out there. Before you know it, someone starts listing a ton of them and the price drops accordingly. I still think these cards are very rare, but obviously there are more of them than...
I assume you mean the 1995 Electric Diamond Golds, 1994 didn't have a gold version. The 1995 ED Gold is the only Barry Larkin card from 1986-1995 that I still need. They are out there, just extremely tough to find. I have never seen a Larkin either, but from what I have gathered from other...
2010 Panini Century Collections Base Cards. Here is an example:
2010 Panini Century #48 Barry Larkin
I have every Larkin produced in this set including 10 different autos #'d to 10 or less. I have never seen a base card. I talked to someone who opened this product and they told me that it...
I will be more likely to bid higher on items I want if I know there are more people watching it. And it will definitely make me quicker to hit BIN's or make higher offers on best offers if I know there is competition.
Awesome - $750 actually seems like a reasonable price for that. Not sure what the price of gold is at right now, but does that even cover the price of the gold alone? By the way - that guys collection is absolutely incredible!!
Fandruw - I've been away at work for a couple days. But thanks for finding that 24kt Gold Coin from 1997 Pinnacle Mint - I always wanted to see one of those.
Does anyone have an example of the 1997 Pinnacle Mint Gold Redemption coins? They were 1/1's available only via redemption and the redemption cards were something like 1:47,000 packs. Just wondering if anyone has one of their player as I have never seen one. They were made of almost 1 ounce...
Nice Pickup! - You never see those come up for auction anymore. I still need one. I think all of the Vanguard serial #'d cards can be a little tougher to find, especially this one
Cool - I am definitely glad I went after it then. I didn't knwo much about them other than I had never seen one of Larkin before. Do you know what the story is with these, where they originally came from?
Just the fact that you still need the McGwire makes me feel better about the money I spent :) You're collection is incredible, so it must be rare if you still need it. The seller said he found it in a stack of Larkin cards in a huge collection he bought.
Justed picked up a card that I didn't even know existed for Larkin. I know I have heard these mentioned before as one of the hardest promos to find. I had never seen a Larkin, so I assumed he didn't have one. Any insight on these 1993 Cooperstown Promos from you promo experts? Did I do OK on...
This was my understanding as well. I know I had a hell of a time finding an HR prefix of Larkin. I have over 40 non-HR's and only 1 HR prefix that took me forever to find. I actually found the reserve collection before I found one of those.
