Can you trade keepers after? I'd say to keep talent over position, and keep Goldy, Jackson, and Lester, then try to trade for or draft a good SS as early as possible.

Hmm, guess I'm glad I decided I was willing to part with a 2004 Topps Total Plate of his. It may not be autographed, but it is technically a 1 of 1 rookie card. Now to figure out what to list it at.
For me, it's the little value they place on sellers, and the few options we have. I had a buyer recently take almost 14 days to pay (paid the day before a NPB case would close) for a $100 item. I ship it out the next day, and sure enough, the day it arrives, the person contacts me to return...
Yup. They were apparently passing out fliers for it at the National, but outside of a few buddies, I hadn't heard much about it when I made my post. Figured people here would be tripping over themselves getting ready for it.
Correct. I bought cardcop.org which is the one that James used. I also bought several other cardcop related domains at that time, all for far less (about $100 or so) than the $ he was begging from people via email to keep his site up. All he had to do was pay $10 or so to park the domain for...
It certainly has value, but I agree with the idea of sending it to SGC for a regrade. Even if it comes back as "Authentic" or Trimmed by them, it'll sell for more in their holder than it will in a BVG holder.
A buddy at the national clued me in on this:

Could be very nice for us sellers, and a possible view into things to come for eBay?
Agreed at that price. It might not be worth sending to JSA due to the prices they charge for Paige certification, but it's still a cool item. You may just want to pick up another Paige at some point (I'd suggest the Goof Pants team set if you can find one).
I do have to agree that the signature looks a bit different than his normal "autograph" signature. It's possible he has used 2 different types in the past, but it doesn't look like 5 that I have (including 1 from his MLB career days).
I'd say Dunn compares well with Harmon Killebrew, even if Baseball-Reference has him similar to Reggie Jackson. Dunn still has a pretty impressive OBP for such a low BA, and HOF voters do love the longball...
Since I didn't get a chance to make this comment yesterday due to the thread being locked, I'll ask it now. Hopefully my status as a non-customer won't get me scolded...
We now know how the cards got from Leaf to the big chain distributor, but not how how they got to the eBay seller. Is there...
So long story short, you guys borked a deal with a major chain, sent them the extras you had, and stuff happened? If I may say, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO BE SCOLDING ANYONE IF YOU BORKED THE DEAL WITH THEM? YOU GUYS WERE THE ONES THAT SCREWED UP IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND CHOSE THAT OPTION TO TRY...
Nice to see them finally make the case. Now it'll get interesting to see how it all shakes out (plus I have to wonder if I'll be getting any $ back if restitution for shill bidding is made).
Correction, there was a listing for it in May of 2006 (I bought it in November of 2005), but the seller never responded to me when I asked about it. The original seller was from Taiwan, with a screen name of chiayi88.
That would be me. I bought it many moons ago, and it never arrived. I ended up getting my $ back, but even then, I would have much rather have had the card. I do check on eBay for it on occasion, but have never seen it show up.
