I haven't opened a hobby box since my birthday in April. Now I'm thinking about trying a box of 2017 Donruss Optic, especially since Mantle makes a return to the hobby.
Today was my first sports-related mail day in a while since I've taken a little break from the hobby. Last week A_Pharis had a little giveaway during a pack break video on the FCB Facebook page. The four of us watching at the time were sent packages. Got mine today. Thanks Adam!
2012 Playoff...
Those are insane. I have a small Mantle collection. Most are modern base/inserts but I do have a few
lower-end vintage and a couple game-used.
My late father once owned a '52 Mantle but it burned in a fire before I was born. I like picking up any reprints I can find.
I work at a Walmart, and didn't think to check until I got off tonight. Found two blasters and a few packs, but just bought one blaster tonight. I'll buy the rest tomorrow if they are still there.
I was satisfied with the one I got - Bellinger RC, Torres ice parallel, Zach Collins Bowman's...
Merry Christmas everyone!
I had an old-school Titans Christmas (Warren Moon certified autographed mini-helmet; McNair, George, and Moon autographed cards). On the baseball side I received a Leaf-certified Frank Thomas autographed baseball.
This is probably the best non-Mantle card in my baseball collection, but it would be a nice start toward getting an Xbox One. Mike Trout is once again one of the hottest names in baseball. This autograph was only found in the online-exclusive 2013 Topps Mini baseball boxes (which guaranteed...
This is going to be very, very hard to let go of. Right now I would likely ONLY consider letting it go for a rather nice Mantle card (preferably multi-GU). If you are interested I will check what you have, but I'm not 100% certain on trading it away. By Beckett it books $150, but the last to...
Last week I logged on to The Bench for the first time in over 2 months; I haven't been involved in the hobby much lately (here on FCB, there, or on any other forum). Little did I remember that I entered a contest on The Bench in January (held by member David K.).
I had 2 messages - 1 from...
I picked up a few Rainey autographs last year. Hopefully I can get a few more before prices significantly increase.
As long as he can keep a starting role I will be happy for him.
Based on the fun I had with each respective game, my top 3 would probably be (in chronological order):
- Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run (SNES)
- All-Star Baseball 2001 (N64 - I remember being floored by one of my games being postponed by rain)
- MVP Baseball 2005 (Xbox)
The Triple Play games...
If the Topps Embossed Mantle posted by thejackaryman8 pages upon pages ago was never claimed, I'll take it and post something else. I'm even at the moment.
I had one transaction on TCC with Tom that went well (it was low-dollar, around $15 book value). However, he was banned later for a transaction that went sour and a continual negative attitude with the site's owner at the time.
