Found my Thompson, cardboard with full 1988 back. My guess is that Fleer tested their color on the cardboard and Donruss used paper, or maybe they're from different stages in the printing process. 1990 was an odd year for Donruss with all of their Aqueous tests.
I want to say they're cardboard with full backs, can't remember and I don't have scan of the back, I'd have to dig them out from where ever the heck I stored them. I bought them in a lot because it included Robby Thompson.
I have a few of these from 1998 Fleer including:
Tom Brunansky
Shawon Dunston
Lance Johnson
Mark Langston
Jack MCDowell
Bob Ojeda
Jeff Reardon
Bret Saberhagen
Benito Santiago
Kevin Seitzer
My guess is that there are at least 15 copies of each Aqueous card out there, I own 9 or 10 Robby Thompson Aqueous cards, and have confirmed 3 more plus possibly two to four more past that, so I figure 15 for Thompson, which all came from sheets that contained all of the other players.
9 of the...
I love my jacket, got it from my Grandma in the early '90's, she got it on clearance in some thrift shop. I've never seen another one in person but have seen one on eBay and one featuring Mark Grace I think. I used to wear it to Giants games as 14 year old kid and everyone would tell me how cool...

I posted what I know about this set back of page 57 of this thread, some scans there too. From what I can gather this set is 1994 stadium giveaway honoring the 1993 team. As far as value, I know the set is a bit rare because Beckett lists it as "cards", I think I bought mine for around $20, but...
If I'm correct I think these are Red/Red cards with both fronts being red but one is a matte finish like the back of the 1990 cards. I think the test runs that included the Aqueous cards also included these Red/Red and the Blue/White cards with the players in each version not duplicated in other...
I remember being at a card show in 1989 as a 10 year old who only started collecting in 1988 and all of the adults at the show were falling all over themselves to buy up all of the Upper Deck packs. I'd read about the new cards and technology that Upper Deck was using and that they were supposed...
To me these are nice looking cards but they differ wildly from the late 80's Broder cards in a very significant way, they lack original photography. By re-purposing old Topps, Upper Deck, Donruss and Fleer images the cards become rips offs of the originals, not original in their own right.
Howdy, nice to see other people actually proud to be from Fresno. It's curious to me that Donruss would go through the process of changing the font to something similar when they were just test runs, why take the trouble to adjust the font when just the MLBPA logo was the issue. Several fake...
The font on Aqueous test look off to me, the middle part of the "E" doesn't have a curve to it and the placement of the stamp looks a touch off, I seen quite a few Aqueous card, even a full sheet and the font is the same as the 9 Robby Thompson Aqueous test cards I own.
I've actually seen at least 12 of them, lost out on two last year and there is one listed on a PSA registry....I've lost out on a few more over the years but can't be sure that they aren't ones I acquired later on so I don't count them towards the total out there in the market.
I have 9 Robby Thompson 1990 Donruss Aqueous Test cards, at a time when many thought they didn't exist or were extremely rare I had unexpectedly amassed 9 of them.
Gotta love Panini, Will Clark pictured in a Giants jersey and labeled as a member of the St Louis Baseball Club.
