Crazy that so many great pitchers including Roger Clemens, Pedro Martinez, Steve Carlton and Whitey Ford never threw a no-hitter and Mike Fiers has two.
I've become numb to all of this, and it's why I don't collect graded cards or high-end cards.
This garbage has been going on since the '80s, and nothing changes, no matter how outraged collectors get.
There's always a new scammer to take the busted guy's place. Always.
I was just looking...
Bob Franklin, please respectfully keep politics off this board. We have a couple of off-topic boards if you'd like to discuss your political beliefs and complaints. Thanks.
Oh, and you're getting trolled hard with Fresh Prince theme song references instead of serious answers.
Sure the season is only a month old, but Phillies fans are notoriously brutal. The Phillies are in first, but barely above .500 and Harper’s been struggling.
After a hot 3-game start in March, Harper’s hitting .253 with 3 homers in April. And he’s on pace for a Major League record 230...
He came down from those demands a while ago. That's why his unsigning remains so strange a month into the season.
Ken Rosenthal says Kimbrel is looking for a deal similar to what Wade Davis and Zach Britton got this offseason.
Davis got three years and $52 million from the Rockies.
Britton got...
I don't get it. Kimbrel is one of the greatest relief pitchers in history.
He's only 30 years old and healthy.
In only 8 seasons, he already has 333 saves, a 1.91 era, has an incredible 868 Ks in 532 innings and 5 top-10 Cy Young finishes, which is crazy for a reliever, especially in just 8...
There were no billion-dollar TV contracts back then, nor were there massive marketing and team endorsement deals from corporations. That's why teams are able to pay today's players so much.
It's all relative to advanced technology and our multi-media society.
Why should owner's keep all the...
It looks nothing like him or his face from the 1989 UD rookie which it’s supposed to be copying.
And Griffey’s bat was straight on the card, not slanted to the side.
Maybe that’s an ‘89 Henry Cotto error picture variation.
Wait, so not only are you a trained professional autograph authenticator, but you’re also a seasoned lightbulb enthusiast?
That is compelling and rich. You’re kind of a big deal.
Oh man, if the base set was in that All-Star insert design it would have been incredible. I don't know why base sets have to be so safe and plain. But then when Fleer decided to go crazy with its 1995 set, the result was a hideous mess.
But Fleer often had the best-looking insert cards.
When 1991 Fleer came out, it was the only modern card with a design and type that I could accurately recreate on my word processor because it has straight lines.
So I made a lot of custom 1991 Fleer cards by making the border lines and names and the cutting pictures out of magazines. I made...
I loved Fleer, and the ‘82 through ‘90 sets are very nostalgic for me.
My favorite design is the ‘87 set with the beautiful blue borders fading into white and the pictures that rise above the border. I still love looking at that gorgeous set in the binder and have fond memories of building it...
Congrats randy!
That's crazy it took the final few numbers and 110 posts to guess a number under 100.
What's the Pujols card in the scan that looks like his rookie?
I would have guessed the '89 Fleer Randy Johnson too.
I never noticed there was a Marlboro sign behind McGwire on his USA card. I'm surprised Topps didn't airbrush that out.
