Those are awesome and it's impressive that you make entire sets.
I agree with you not liking the filter that Topps uses to make the photos look "vintage." They just end up looking hazy and off.
Do you print out the cards or just have the sets stored digitally? It would be cool to have the...
ESPN -- Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver has been diagnosed with dementia and will retire from public life, his family announced on Thursday.
In a statement released by the Hall of Fame, Seaver's family expressed thanks to those who have supported the New York Mets great throughout his career...
That happened to me. When I started collecting in 1984, I'd buy older '80s packs every week at the card shop. Every '81 Donruss pack I bought there was filled mostly with Braves. So many freaking Gene Garber and Rick Camp cards, sometimes three a pack!
2018 stats
Bryce Harper
.249 avg, 34 homers, 100 rbi
Rhys Hoskins
.246 avg, 34 homers, 96 rbi
Would be funny if Hoskins has a better season than Harper in 2019 at a tiny fraction of the cost.
Cool, I used to love getting cards in packages of granola bars and cereal and sunflower seeds and other foods as a kid.
Completing the 100-card set will be quite expensive unless you know someone to trade with.
One big positive and one big negative though:
Good - They’re Topps cards so they’ll...
The picture should be wider and show the tablecloth he’s sitting at, so it matches and has more appeal, but that would make too much sense. It’s like when Topps uses a picture of a player on another team than the swatch is from.
I thought the swatch was a part of his blue hat until I read...
Cool '63 Mets ball.
It's missing a key autograph, Gil Hodges.
As for price, a '63 Mets ball including Stengel and Hodges, authenticated by Beckett, recently sold for $450 on eBay...
These mega long-term deals for teams like San Diego and Miami are ridiculous because they're realy not long-term deals.
San diego will trade Machado within 3-4 years jusr like Miami traded Stanton after they lose year after year.
Machado knows he's not staying with the Padres for 10 years, so...
Cool finding that Garvey back. It's like it was waiting for you to find it all these years.
Reading collectors' experiences and stories like this is awesome
Several of those players, most notably Newcombe, Erskine, Gentile, Pignatano and Craig, have been great TTM signers over the years. Not sure if they still are at their advanced ages, but they were up until about eight years ago when I last sent cards to them. I'm sure they still love reading...
Easily the best hitter? I'd definitely put Segura over Realmuto as a hitter, and you can't count out McCutchen becoming a star again. Hoskins has more power than all of them.
Here's an ESPN obituary showing how incredible he was:
ESPN -- Frank Robinson, the first African-American manager in Major League Baseball and the only player to win MVP in both leagues, has died at age 83, MLB said Thursday.
An outfielder and first baseman, Robinson was inducted into the...
