Agreed. How can the players not feel bad about losing a teammate? You can feel sad that someone you were friends with did something so bad. Feeling sad doesn't mean you condone the behavior.
For my player collection I go penny sleeve, top loader for commons. Then penny sleeve, top loader, and team bag for higher end stuff. Unless its too thick to fit into a top loader.
Outside of a graded case I've found the penny sleeve, top loader, then inside a team bag the best protection. And...
BA's Organizational Top 10 Prospects List Official Thread (AL Central)
It's pretty amazing how quickly Avisail Garcia moved up the ranks. If I remember right he wasn't even in them last year. He was a mention at the end.
Everyone talks so much about Cabrera's poor D. Yet it wasn't poor. He was third in fielding percentage with the most games played of anyone there. People love to bring up the new fielding metrics that predict what you should have gotten to, however, there's no good way of knowing what the...
That writer's take is totally correct. If there is one area where people don't care about race it's sports. What they care about is winning, and putting fans in the seats by it.
Also, this isn't hockey. The vast majority of the NBA is black. You look like a fool complaining. Basically he thinks...
Projecting the Yankees line up 5 years out filled with current prospects is just as impossible as predicting an earthquake.
Just for fun I went back and looked at their list five years back predicting their 2012 line up. It wasn't that bad considering no trades.
Although, Hughes, Joba, and...
In a weird way I think he bring on a new wave in baseball. I wish his stuff was cheaper, because you know if he got anywhere close to Henderson his stuff would go bonkers. We are so far removed from the speed days 50 SB seems like a lot.
Thinking about the Bulls. If someone came in a took the Cubs to multiple championships they would be HUGE. That's a situation ripe for someone to be the face of baseball.
That's exactly what I meant.
As far as Pujols, I think it's really difficult for a foreign player to connect on the level needed to be the face of baseball.
Also, I agree with what has been said already. It helps to be loved by the ladies. It's like Brady and Manning. Both are superstars...
People will knock every series that has an AL central team in it. As a Tigers fan, I know no one wants to see them play. Let alone lay a huge egg on top. Even if it was a close series I doubt many people would have watched with Detroit involved.
With all the turmoil in NY and Bos, and the...
It's not as good a situation as being in NY, but Mays did it mainly in SF. Posey would have to be the best player in baseball for it to happen. Since he's not, and won't be, I don't see it happening.
I'm worried about the long lay off. Every team that's swept a LCS has lost, and lost bad. The only hope is that the hottest part of the Tigers right now is the pitching and they are more used to sitting anyway.
I also don't like how they are massive favorites in Vegas. That's been a bad side...
I just don't agree that there is as much an inconsistent zone as people think. I think TV makes it deceptive.
Also, in general when it comes to sports, I feel baseball is generally the most fair when it comes to officiating. It's really, really, really, rare when you can point to a specific...
I don't think the strike zone is a huge issue at this point. One of the biggest problems with people's perception of it being bad is the camera angle in which baseball games are shot. It's not a direct angle to avoid being in the batter's view.
It's also not where the ball ends up either. So...
You can't tell anything from beating the Lions. They self-destruct more than any team in the NFL. They had so many chances to put points on the board only to turn it over again and again. Neither of the rushing fumbles should have happened. They were just poor protection of the ball.
I wonder what the demand for these boxes is. I have connections where I know I could have them made in any size. The only question would be if there is enough demand to get production costs low enough to make sense.
It's weird how this hobby has holes in it where storage options are hard to find. It's like all storage options stopped before graded, and other thicker cards.
I feel what you're saying. The only problem with it is he is currently the 3rd highest hitting prospect in all of baseball. That's gonna inflate prices for a while.
It's also interesting how quickly Garcia has shot up the board. He was an afterthought on most lists going into last year, and at...
