Did you contact Topps about it? Crappy story, btw...

Interesting Redemption from Topps (scans included)

I do plan on keeping it. I paid around $120 for the original redemption card and I don't think I could get more than that if I sold it. Does anyone think that calling Topps will do anything? I've never called their customer service line to complain, but I have a feeling they're just going to...

Interesting Redemption from Topps (scans included)

That's what I was suspecting as well. The obvious question is why did they choose 2005 Topps??? I'm not really a Sox fan, but I only collect cards with Nomar in a Red Sox uniform. I believe other Nomar collectors feel the same way because the demand for his non-Red Sox cards is pretty low and...

Interesting Redemption from Topps (scans included)

Also, in the minor research I've done I have found that all of the other "clear rookie reprint rookie autos" from this product are in fact ROOKIE cards. I have yet to find an exception, but if someone finds another player with a non-rookie I'd love to see it.

Interesting Redemption from Topps (scans included)

Back in September 2013 I purchased a redemption card from the Topps product Tier One. Here's what I got: I promptly put in the code and waited...waited...until now. Finally! Something comes in the mail and here's what I find: I was expecting a reprint of Nomar's rookie card ('92 Topps...

When will Pujols hit his 500th homer?

The point about God is definitely true. A lot of players talk about God, praying, church, after they sign outlandish contracts. Wouldn't that amount of money be frowned upon my Jesus and his disciples? Pujols is philanthropic, but for him to allude to God when signing with the Angels is a bit...

Your Teams worst trades since 2000.....what just eats at you

It's hard to tell how this trade will work out, but the recent David Freese/Peter Bourjos trade really grinds my gears. Even for a team with a plethora of great outfielders I think it's bad mojo to move someone like Bourjos. Talk about underrated....

Your Teams worst trades since 2000.....what just eats at you

Did the Angels really draft Posey and Harvey? I've never heard that before.... The others you mentioned are definitely painful. The Segura/Greinke trade is especially painful now that Aybar is looking like very subpar.

do any of yall have a baseball or baseball card related tatoo

Going big! Who's Alison Avery? I was thinking of getting super minimal...like a slash line of a favorite player. Or maybe 5714/2795...might seem arbitrary but it's Nolan Ryan's Strikeouts and Walks. Kinda like a yin-yang thing.

Right! This gets mentioned a lot around here. Doesn't seem too far via subway. Thanks

    Visiting NYC in May...Suggestions please!

I've got a week long vacation planned and I've never been. I'm hoping the FCB community can recommend some sports/baseball related things to do. The Yankees are in town so I plan on catching a game and hitting up a few local hobby shops. Non-sports suggestions are also welcome. I'll be staying...

The Next $1000 Autographed FY Card

Angels fans are biased, but there is some reasoning behind it. Trout looks so natural out there....he doesn't seem to have much of an ego and I hope he doesn't develop one. I do slightly regret not picking up an 09 auto before he exploded.

Oh Super Sweet 90's Inserts.... #3

Nice Nomar pick up. Those are really tough. I picked one up a while ago and I didn't even know another was listed. Burbank listed some stellar Nomar stuff late last week, and I've been trying my hardest not to spend too much on it.

What eBay auction(s) have you been watching "forever" and it'll never sell - frustrating!

Not sure if it's been mentioned before in this thread, but griffeyfan24 has several items with high prices attached to them. To the best of my knowledge none of the Nomar cards have sold. It seems like he's just showing off his collection with no intention of actually moving product.

The Super Sweet Early 00's Thread

Warp Tek! Excellent pickup. Anyone got the insert ratios? BaseballCardPedia lists the "Plus" parallel as 1:240, so the Warp Tek must be way gnarlier.

What are your thoughts on grading when it comes to your collection?

The BGS slabs of modern prospects make me throw up a little bit in my mouth. That's the only part of grading I don't like and do not participate in. I do realize that it's a big niche in the collecting world so I have respect for it. I see the biggest value for grading in the TTM/IP and vintage...

    Graded Tickets

I recently retrieved my 2002 World Series ticket from game 7. It was buried deep in some boxes my mom was storing for me and I thought I had lost it or given it to someone. Luckily it popped up after going through some old things. It's a really nice piece for Angels fans like myself and I was...

WTB Nolan Ryan: The Angels Years (1972-1980)

I've got those two, but thanks for posting 'em. You're right about the 73 card - always a favorite. Anybody got anything else?
